There are many things in
the world that can be redeemed, such as conscience, such as faith, but there
are more irreversible things, such as old dreams, such as years, such as the
tribulation and hell feeling caused by the Great Leap Forward.
If it hadn't been for
the great leap forward, would China's ending be different, and the memories of
the past would not be the same. Now, three generations apart, we laugh and cry
recalling those past events. Let the past pass, let the coming come, the
Chinese have learned to wait, and it has been like this for thousands of years.
The Chinese people wait for tomorrow to be better.
There are no abnormal
natural disasters, no plague epidemics, no wars, no civil strife, and the
man-made disasters of totalitarian tyranny have caused a super-large-scale
starvation death that exceeds the total number of starved to death in the past
2,000 years and is close to the total number of deaths in the world during
World War II—— Tens of millions of people were killed, forced to die, and
starved to death, and there was a horrific, large-scale cannibalism... However,
they always tried their best to avoid and cover up this tragedy of mass
extinction afterwards, not to mention investigating responsibility, summing up
lessons, and helping Justice, comfort the dead.
However, how many people
in China know the truth about the Great Leap Forward-the Great Famine that was
deeply covered up? How many people can imagine the brutality and suffering of
the earth-shattering weeping ghosts and gods? How many people know the names of
the tens of millions of victims and astronomical numbers of hungry ghosts who
died in the tragic dark age? And where can I find any monuments or biographies
or commemorative activities for these poor undead compatriots? How many people
who starved to death directly or indirectly expressed even a little bit of
repentance or explained the reason why they fell into hell for no reason, so as
to give justice to comfort their souls in heaven? And let the living Chinese
conscientiously sum up this painful lesson to prevent the recurrence of
historical tragedies, so as to benefit the healthy development and democratic
progress of modern China?
At the beginning of
1962, a meeting of 7,000 people was held in which all cadres above the county
party committee level participated, and proposed to restart the Great Leap
Forward and greatly increase the amount of requisition. Had to give up the
"Great Leap Forward" idea and continue to reduce grain purchases.
Naive Chinese people
think that Lao Mao has "conceded". The Great Leap Forward, which
lasted for several years, starved, beat to death, and forced tens of millions
of people to death, began to come to an end.
Lao Mao would never
"concede". Li Jingquan understood the holy will and stubbornly
insisted on Lao Mao's proposition, resulting in a large number of starving
people in Sichuan starving to death in 1962. In the early stage of the Great
Leap Forward, Zeng Xisheng, the first secretary of Anhui, who closely followed
Mao's line, caused a lot of starvation. In the later period, his conscience
found that he supported farmers in production and self-help, but was punished
by Lao Mao; Bi Kedan, secretary of the Tanghe County Party Committee, felt
deeply guilty and could not bear the pressure of "bad guys in power"
to commit suicide with his family...
In 1962, when the Great
Famine had just ended, the Beidaihe Conference and the Tenth Plenary Session of
the Eighth Central Committee were held. Lao Mao further proposed to "take
class struggle as the key link." Paying too much attention to the
"cultural" aspect, began to counterattack with all its strength, and
carried out personality worship and obscurity policies.
Lao Mao was
concentrating on how to get rid of Liu Shaoqi and his supporters who advocated
economic development and clean up the mess, and replaced him with his wife
Jiang Qing and other people, so as to turn the "party world" into a
"family world" to completely cover up those who starved to death. The
heinous crime of millions.
Pandora's box was
opened, and the "anti-revisionism" and "Cultural
Revolution" that caused more damage and more damage came.
The Chinese lament the
illusory concepts of "liberation", "new society",
"being the master of the country" and so on. When people have been
talking about it for a long time, the tens of millions of souls and hungry
ghosts of the Great Famine knew it. How would you feel?
In 1976, after the death
of Lao Mao, the shackles were quickly broken, and the mind broke out of the
cage. With the rectification of chaos, reform and opening up, and the gradual
revealing of many historical truths, the amazing disaster of the Great Leap
Forward-Great Famine gradually surfaced.
The number of abnormal
deaths in the Great Famine of three or four years, that is, the number of
people who died of starvation, according to the data of abnormal deaths in the
Great Famine obtained by many scholars after consulting archives, interviewing
survivors and the memories of the parties involved, etc. There are more than 20
million to 30 million, and there are also 40 million to 50 million or more. In
September 2005, the Politburo of the Central Committee agreed to limit the
declassification of the population of "starvation and abnormal
deaths" during the Great Famine, which was 37.558 million; if the data of
1958 and some provincial regions not included in this statistics are added,
this An authoritative number of "starvation and abnormal deaths" must
not be less than 40 million.
According to relatively
high and relatively consistent data disclosed by the anti-fascist allies in
World War II, including China, the total number of people who died in World War
I in the world was more than 10 million. World War II spread across dozens of
countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania. In seven or eight years, the
total number of people who died in World War II was 40 to 50 million.
In just three or four
years in China's peaceful era, it caused abnormal deaths close to the total
number of deaths in the world during World War II, exceeding 100 Nanjing
Massacres, equivalent to 150 Tangshan Earthquakes or 500 Wenchuan Earthquakes
Deaths from earthquakes.
According to the papers
published by Chen Yuqiong and Gao Jianguo in Nature Exploration, in the 2129
years before 1949, there were 203 major climate disasters in China that killed
more than 10,000 people, causing a total of 29.92 million deaths. This is the
total number of deaths caused by various climatic disasters such as floods,
droughts, and wind disasters, naturally including people who died of starvation
due to disasters. In the "new society" of modern Chinese history, the
number of people who starved to death in just a few years of the Great Famine
even exceeded the sum of the number of people who starved to death in the
previous 2,000 years!
According to the
"Report on War Losses and Japanese Compensation Issues" issued by the
Executive Yuan of the National Government in February 1947, during the
eight-year war of resistance from July 7, 1937 to September 3, 1945, the total
number of military and civilian deaths nationwide was 5.72 million. There were
many people, including 1,328,501 soldiers and 4,397,504 civilians. In just a
few years of peaceful times, the "Great Leap Forward" killed people
who starved to death, which is equivalent to the total number of people who
died in the war during the eight-year war of resistance.
7 times the mouth!
Yuan Longping once said
bluntly that the reason why he had been seeking high-yield rice for decades was
that he was deeply stimulated by the Great Leap Forward and the Great Famine:
"Forty to fifty million people died of starvation... I saw it with my own
eyes at the edge of the field, under the bridge and on the side of the
road!"
How to carry out
agricultural production is a simple question. After 1949, the old Mao tossed
the party without peace, the country without peace, and the people without
peace, until the corpses littered the fields and hundreds of millions of people
lived in the ravine. In those years, the United States fed the country with
less than 5% of its agricultural population and exported a large amount of
food, while China’s agricultural population exceeded 80%, but they were always
hungry. At that time, it was popular for a long time to "do a lot of
agriculture" and "big food" to ensure food. All walks of life
had to support agriculture, including students in elementary and middle schools
who went to the countryside from time to time to work for free, and urban
residents who did not have regular jobs and relied on odd jobs to make ends
meet were dismissed. Driving to the countryside for "voluntary labor"
is even more commonplace year after year.
This strange phenomenon
that people all over the country are always hungry for food has disappeared
after the reform and opening up "loosened" the people, including a
large number of rural people who went out to work and a lot of farmland was abandoned.
There is still no shortage of food and even sells it for food. Don't go out and
worry. This also shows from one aspect that the Great Famine was a catastrophic
tragedy caused entirely by man-made disasters that deprived the people of their
right to live. From the perspective of political system and ideology, China has
learned from the capitalist mode of production to achieve ultra-high-speed
development. After the "restoration of capitalism", it did not have
"millions of people on the ground" but "millions of pigs on the
ground".
Looking back on the
deception, fooling and brainwashing of the Chinese people in those years, the
memory of any country and nation, especially the history of suffering brewed by
violence and lies, should not be forgotten, tampered with or erased.
The perception of human
nature is not always proportional to the right and wrong of good and evil. The
tragic death of one or two people can often arouse people's anger, sympathy and
public attention, but the tragic death of thousands of people may be just a
cold number and be ignored. Wronged souls cannot always be submerged in
"big data", and rivers of blood and tears cannot be frozen into cold
numbers forever. Therefore, if there is no revelation of the truth, sacrifice of
wronged souls, and investigation of responsibility after the disaster, it will
be difficult to have a spiritual resurrection, a scourge of sin, and a deep
reflection, and similar tragedies may still happen again.
They tried their best to
conceal and cover up the truth of the Great Leap Forward-Great Famine, but
failed to liquidate their mistakes, sum up experience and lessons, uphold
justice, and carry out necessary accountability. Finally, the serious mistakes
of direction, policy, and system made a comeback, and the Chinese nation, China
The people suffered the "unprecedented" continuous disaster of the
Cultural Revolution, and paid a greater, deeper and wider price.
To forget, to make a
strangled life suffer another misfortune, is a more profound misfortune than the
extinction of physical life. Memory itself, the clarity and clarity of one's
stance in evaluating these dark historical events, will be a powerful warning
against history repeating itself.
The occurrence of the
ten-year Cultural Revolution, the confusion of good and evil, and the loss of
human ethics and morality have made it impossible for the Chinese people to
really get out of chaos, confusion, ignorance, and backwardness.
Not forgetting man-made
disasters, darkness and evil is to stay away from man-made disasters, darkness
and evil, and also to demonstrate human conscience and justice of heaven.
Looking back at the
great catastrophe of the Great Leap Forward-Great Famine, the purpose of
writing straight and revealing the truth is to prevent the recurrence of
historical tragedies, and also for the healthy development and democratic
progress of modern China, and to pay homage to those souls who lost their lives
them.
A person always walks a
strange road, sees a strange scenery, listens to a strange song, and then at a
certain inadvertent moment, you will find that the things that you have tried
so hard to forget will not be easily forgotten . We were crazy together, silly
together, laughed together and cried together in those years. The seemingly
absurd and unruly rough years have brought us painful memories that will never
be erased. If the memory window of looking back on the past is left open for
too long, the chill will start to invade the present time.
That painful experience is like a dream,
which will disappear when you open your eyes, but many Chinese are still
unwilling to wake up. In this way, we can only give ourselves to time, because
time will never go back. I believe that time will one day wake up those who are
addicted to their dreams.
