Students can end their studies in this school or if they meet the school's requirements and pass the audit. The graduation certificate is a certificate issued by the school to prove the learning experience after the student has completed all the courses given by the school and passed the grades after four years of study.

The graduation ceremony of Zhongyuan College of Humanities officially started. Graduate representatives of each department (one for each academic system) lined up and waited in the audience. When the master of ceremonies rolls the name, representatives of graduates from each school and department will come to the stage in sequence. The dean will pull the cap tassels for the graduate representatives and issue degree certificates. Nan Yangsheng received a doctorate certificate.

That morning, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities presided over the ceremony.

In his speech, the Secretary expressed his heartfelt thanks to the previous school leaders, government agencies, departments, brothers and departments, as well as leaders and friends from all walks of life who have cared and supported the development of the college for many years, and extended cordial greetings to the alumni, teachers, students and staff of the college.

Bai Yu, the dean of the college, made an important speech at the graduation ceremony, but what he talked about was his own reading experience. He said: "I have many hobbies, and the biggest hobby is reading. Reading has become a way of life for me. Books accompany my growth."

Dean Bai Yu said:

When I was a child, my mother took me to Xinhua Bookstore to buy the comic book "The Legend of Yue Fei". After I came back, I told me stories about serving the country faithfully and tattooing my mother-in-law. I have been remembering the four words "serving the country with loyalty" from that time until now, and it is also the goal I have pursued in my life. the

Just after the New Year in 1969, I went to the countryside to jump in the queue. I was under 16 at the time. I carried two heavy suitcases full of books. I read all the literary classics at that time that I could find, and what I can blurt out now is what I read at that time. I loved reading at that time, and at night I lit a kerosene lamp, and it was half the night just by looking at it.

My favorite book is "The Communist Manifesto". If you feel uneasy in your heart, study the classics and read the "Communist Manifesto" several times. When I was in college, I discussed the study of the "Das Kapital" course with my classmates in the economics department of the university, and shared my research experience. When reading the original works of Marxism, one should pay attention to the preface, postscript, notes at the bottom of the pages and the appendix at the end of the book, as well as the content of the correspondence between Marx and Engels on "Das Kapital". Read it over and over again. At that time, I read a lot of Marxist-Leninist works.

At the age of 15, I already have the ability to think independently. Through constant re-examination in the process of reading, I have achieved negation of negation, learning new things by reviewing the past, and gradually feel that Marxism is indeed the truth, and that the leadership of the Communist Party of China is indeed the choice of the people and the foundation of history. Choose, the road of socialism we take is indeed a road that must be taken. This kind of conclusion drawn through self-thinking and understanding will be firm.

The students seemed not interested in President Bai Yu's speech.

Dean Bai Yu was born in Beihuang. Suffering from PTSD, that is, post-traumatic stress disorder, the nightmare he experienced as a teenager made him a mental patient. He always wants to take revenge on others for everything he has encountered. He is timid while vicious, and behind his self-confidence Inferiority, cover up your fear with arrogance. From a young age, he had "great ambitions" and began to plan how to get to the top of power. The political dictatorship he embraced could be a curse masquerading as a blessing. To understand what kind of person Dean Bai Yu is, one has to examine his early trauma and growth process.

Born in 1953, Bai Yu experienced the 10-year Cultural Revolution in his youth when his personality was forming. His father was an old Red Army man who once held a high position. But after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was persecuted, and Bai Yu was classified as a "child of the gangster". He was detained and interrogated many times when he was young.

In 1968, Mao Zedong launched the "Go to the Countryside" movement, and Bai Yu, like thousands of educated youths, was driven to the countryside to work in the countryside. At the beginning, he did not adapt to the difficult life of "going to the countryside" and fled back to the city.

But unlike many of the generation that went through the Cultural Revolution and had family members who suffered persecution, Bai Yu seems to be more grateful for that experience. He said, "This is the starting point of my life. This is also the point of my life in adversity. It is the time when I need help from all aspects in my life. The local people extended a selfless helping hand to me. What I have formed now Many basic concepts and many basic characteristics formed were also formed at that time.”

Bai Yu was harmed by the Cultural Revolution but did not hate the Cultural Revolution. This seemingly contradictory fact is not so difficult to understand, because like many young people at the time, Mao Zedong's spiritual influence on him far exceeded his own family. Even if his father was persecuted and imprisoned, it didn't mean he thought Mao was wrong. It can be said that he is actually Mao's child, and Mao is his spiritual father.

From the perspective of a psychiatrist, it is not unusual for Bai Yu, a victim, to respond positively to his perpetrator. This is one of the ways traumatized people protect themselves. His psychological defense is to identify with the aggressor. Spiritual growth, finding new possibilities in life, actively problem-solving, and finding meaning and purpose fit all the hallmarks of post-traumatic growth.

Bai Yu had applied to join the party 10 times. Before joining the party, he had experienced some ideological struggles. He said: "In the past, talking about faith seemed to be a very empty thing. I think the growth experience of our generation of youth at that time was that the Red Guards were followed by excitement. It was an emotion and an atmosphere; when it came to the Cultural Revolution, ideals were shattered. , and finally became even a kind of nihility. In China at that time, joining the Communist Party was almost the only choice for any young person who wanted to embark on the road of success."

In dealing with the impact of the Cultural Revolution, Bai Yu and his close friend of the second generation of the red family who were also persecuted adopted completely different methods. While other second-generation reds were busy dating, drinking, watching movies, and reading Western literature, Bai Yu chose to "become redder than red". His father was rehabilitated after the Cultural Revolution and continued to serve as a high-ranking CCP official. Bai Yu believed that only the CCP had the ability to maintain China's social stability and national power, and believed that only the second generation of reds like him were qualified to control the country laid down by their fathers. country.

Bai Yu is a pragmatist and a realist, but at the same time he is also an out-and-out elitist, a person full of ideological beliefs, and a nationalist.

Dean Bai Yu's speech received only sporadic applause.

Guests from universities, academies of sciences, academies of social sciences and other fraternal universities and academic research institutions, heads of relevant school units, former leaders of the former School of Humanities, representatives of alumni, teachers and students attended the graduation ceremony. Others attended the conference online.

Hong Wenxuan, professor of sociology, made a speech as a representative of teachers and students.

Professor Hong Wenxuan said: "Social history is an ancient and young science, which plays an important role in improving the cultural quality of the whole people and communicating science and humanities. Culture is the blood and soul of a nation, and cultural confidence is the foundation of a country and a nation. The most basic, deepest, and most enduring force in development. The humanities are not only composed of individual intellectual disciplines, but many humanities are an organic combination, sharing the inner essence of moistening and silent.”

She hopes that young students can gain the courage to express, question, love and explore from humanistic education and tradition. Teach yourself to be a person of thought, flesh and blood, and a person of faith. As a young student, you must continue the torch of the predecessors and write the humanistic spirit on the land of the motherland in the new era.

Psychology professor Shen Zhirui's speech was the shortest, but received the longest applause.

Professor Shen said:

I would like to present a few Chinese idioms to the graduates.

Good old Minqiu, good at learning and near wisdom. ---In order to learn, you should study hard and study hard to be successful.

A scholar must be resolute, and a scholar should know first. --- Be persevering and broad-minded, possess great power and insight.

Aspirations are saved, and aspirations are based on virtue. ---Keep in mind the great cause of helping the world, create the great cause of benefiting the people, and act on the basis of morality.

Riding the wind and waves, the future is bright. ---With lofty aspirations, not afraid of difficulties, and bravely move forward, the future achievements will be brilliant.

Professor Shen raised his hands, waved them and said to the graduates:

Wave a hand, don't mention parting, just want to meet again.

After the graduation ceremony, psychology professor Shen Zhirui created a group of graduates. He wanted to use this group to understand what students experienced after graduation. This is also the subject of his research on group psychology.

Five doctoral students who just graduated from the Central Plains College of Humanities joined this Weibo group. The five doctors are Nan Yangsheng, Ph.D. in Psychology, Qin Xiling, Ph.D. in Sociology, Lin Beixue, Ph.D. in Medicine, Shen Haidong, Ph.D. in Politics and Law, and Zhou Yuzhong, Ph.D. in Management. Among them, Nan Yangsheng, Ph.D. in Psychology, is the favorite student of Professor Shen Zhirui, and Qin Xiling, Ph.D. in Sociology, is the most valued student of Professor Hong Wenxuan.
