Wake up(35)

35

The torrential rain poured down like a floodgate, countless arrows shot from the ground, and thousands of waterfalls fell from the houses. Chai Jianhua looked out through the glass window, and the sky and the earth seemed to be hung with an extremely wide and thick rain curtain, which was misty. The rain fell on the tiles of the roof on the opposite side, splashing one after another, and covering the roof like a thin layer of smoke. Cruelty and madness, despair and hope, destruction and rebirth, all meet in this storm and rain! Gather! mix! Confrontation!

Lightning struck from the sky. Time passed by every minute and every second, the rain became thinner and lighter, and slowly, from big to small, it became a fine flower needle, sliding down from the sky one by one. The sky is also getting whiter.

Clouds and lightning, wind and rain, sea and sky, all burst into flames and arrows! injection! pouring! Break free!

The downpour continued, and the dark sky seemed to be collapsing. Chai Jianhua thought of the anti-rightist movement in that stormy era. Memories, gradually approaching, although memories and the present are always separated by a layer of unbreakable window paper, they can never be equated, because memories can only be memories, can only store the past, and the present is always the present . Even if the memory is full, I don’t want to delete more, even if the memory is broken, I don’t want to abandon it. For Chai Jianhua who lives in the present memory, he neither wants to lose it at will, nor does he know how to put it

Those youthful emotions displayed in the red legends to carry forward the spirit of struggle, finally ended with a seal, like a letter sent to the wrong address, falling in a desolate place that no one knows, every truth recorded in history, Concealed by a giant palm...

However, Chai Jianhua imprisoned himself in his memories. He recalled the era of the Anti-Rightist Expansion Movement.

The anti-rightist expansion is an absurd farce that is enough to make all mankind laugh at ten thousand years and mourn ten thousand years. Because the "anti-rightist" suppressed all voices of opposition and doubt, it rose and flooded. The tragic experience of the Great Famine was a road of enslavement and destruction for China's intellectual elite from spiritual to physical. Chai Jianhua can't forget the pain left by that era to society.

Chai Jianhua sat on a bamboo chair in front of the window, turned on his mobile phone, and searched for information about the anti-rightist struggle.

Xinhua News Agency reporter Dai Huang recalled the days of "reform" in the Great Northern Wilderness after becoming a rightist: more than 100 people slept in a large shack that he hastily built, and it was freezing at minus 38 degrees, working fifteen to sixteen hours a day , only simple food such as steamed buns, corn dregs, and black facial masks hang their lives. Li Rui, a former deputy minister of the Ministry of Water and Electricity and a part-time secretary of Lao Mao, persuaded Mao to abandon the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in 1958, thus reducing the dangers of the Great Leap Forward, but was convicted of agreeing with Peng Dehuai at the Lushan Conference. He had to go to the fields to do hard labor at 3 o'clock, and he could finish work at 9 o'clock in the evening. However, he only had a small amount of wild vegetables and bean cakes to satisfy his hunger. Fortunately, he was rescued by Tian Jiaying, who was also Mao's secretary, so he did not starve to death or freeze to death like many other rightists in the labor camp.

Gansu Jiabiangou rightist forced labor farm where 3,000 people were starved to death, and only 500 people survived. The shocking tragedy: There is no way to go to the ground, and one rightist to starve to death in the earthen nest, in order to "reform and go home "And a young man who was exhausted, a woman who came to visit relatives and witnessed her husband being tied up to death and then committed suicide, sometimes 40 or 50 people died of starvation a day; and a large number of rightists and children in the "small reeducation through labor" farm in Ebian Shaping, Sichuan. It is no less than the mass extinction of life in the Nazi concentration camps in World War II. It is not only a condensed history of blood and tears of the anti-rightists and the Great Famine, but also a history of the vast majority of Chinese people, especially the "rightists" and "four types of elements" (later collectively referred to as "the four types of elements" The five types of molecules") are like pigs and dogs, living specimens of wanton deprivation of personal freedom and right to life.

Fu Zuogong, a Ph.D. and water conservancy expert from Columbia University in the United States, was mobilized by his brother Fu Zuoyi to return to China to serve. In order to support the Northwest, he came to Lanzhou. It snowed heavily one day in winter, and he crawled to the pigsty, trying to get some pig food, but fell down in the snow in the pigsty, and never got up again.

Shen Dawen, a professor at Gansu Agricultural University and a Ph.D. student in the United States, was labeled as a rightist in 1958 and sent to Jiabiangou. In the spring of 1960, he starved to death. Wen Daye, vice president of the Gansu Provincial Health School and former professor of Lanzhou Medical College, was so hungry that he found a kind of yellow thatch to make a "powder soup" like Guanyin soil to satisfy his hunger. It formed a big hard lump that was stuck in the anus and could not be pulled out. The stomach grew bigger and bigger , Five or six days later, he swelled to death. Niu Tiande, an engineer from the Provincial Construction Engineering Bureau from the northeast to Lanzhou in order to support the Northwest, died of edema after being labeled as a rightist and sent to Jiabiangou. A civil engineer who graduated from Tsinghua University in the 1930s

Engineer Luo Hongyuan, in the autumn of 1958, was sent to Jiabiangou wearing a historical counter-revolutionary hat, and was bitten to death and eaten by wolves while working in the fields.

Dong Jianyi, a doctor of medicine from Harvard University, defected to "New China" and returned to Shanghai in 1952. He served as the director of urology at Huimin Hospital. In 1955, he supported the Northwest and went to work in Gansu Provincial Hospital. . His wife, Gu Xiaoying, is also a returnee studying in the United States. Every two or three months, she makes a special trip from Shanghai to the farm to visit her relatives. In November 1960, Dong Jianyi died of starvation at the age of 35. According to Dong's will, Liu Wenhan, the team leader, bandaged him and buried him in a rain-washed crypt. Seven or eight days after Dong Jianyi's death, his wife Gu Xiaoying came from Shanghai again. When the fellow sufferers took her to see the old Dong's body, she disappeared and was finally found in the back ditch. Dong Jianyi's body was thrown in the wilderness, wrapped in His clothes had been stripped off, and the flesh from his corpse had been cut up and eaten. With no flesh on the head, the purple-brown head remained intact on the skeleton. Gu Xiaoying threw herself on the skeleton and cried endlessly, expressing that she would die with her husband. Later, fellow sufferers found some branches and kerosene, cremated the body, wrapped the bones, packed them into luggage, and brought them back to Shanghai by her.

At this time, the rain outside the window became heavier, and a layer of white mist splashed up on the roof and in the yard, like an ethereal plain yarn. The raindrops slanted on the ponded water on the ground, stirring up sprays. Raindrops fall from the eaves, walls, and leaves, just like beads with broken threads, and finally connect together to form a water column.

Chai Jianhua was still sitting on the bamboo chair in front of the window, continuing to search for information on the anti-rightist struggle on his mobile phone.

According to an interview by Southern Weekend, the Ebian Shaping Labor Reform Farm is located in Heizhugou, known as the "Valley of Death", with the Dadu River in front and the virgin forest 800 miles behind. In 1958, Zeng Boyan, a reporter from Sichuan Daily, was labeled as a rightist and sent to a labor camp here. He was amazed to see a group of ragged, yellow and thin children, who were just the age of wearing red scarves, but were forced to "reform through labor" and held hoes taller than themselves. Open up wasteland and farm. Some children cried out: Mom, I want to go home... After the Great Leap Forward caused a great famine, the Shaping Forced Labor Camp, which was difficult to survive, was in the desperate situation of starving to death from time to time.

Li Shiyuan, a rightist in the labor camp, recalled: some companions caught mice and ate them while digging the ground, and the rats squeaked in their mouths before being swallowed; crickets eaten alive would bite people's tongues; Thousands of small labor camps under the age of 17 in the Dabao operation area of Shaping Labor Camp Farm, the youngest is only 9 years old, and it is difficult to survive the life and death of hunger. During the day, the small labor camps were forced to do high-intensity labor for more than 10 hours, and they were threatened and whipped by the managers if they slackened slightly; Vaginal and other torture. These small labor camps died in large numbers due to excessive physical labor, starvation, disease and abuse. The small labor camps who couldn't stand the intense hunger went to steal food nearby, and were caught by the villagers, burned them on fire, chopped off their fingers, etc. Some children were disabled and died because of eating poisonous mushrooms, raw crabs and earthworms. The labor camp authorities declared that these small labor camps are bad people and asked the villagers not to sympathize with them. On the day before Children's Day in 1960, more than 200 small labor camps were so hungry that they collectively went to Dabao Town to steal food. The correctional cadres and local farmers all mobilized, flashlights filled the sky, and gunshots rang out to encircle and suppress small labor camps... .

A team leader surnamed Cai recalled: "I registered one by one, and more than 2,600 small labor camps died." Professor Ai Xiaoming of Sun Yat-sen University believes that the tragic death of 2,600 children in "small labor camps" occurred in China in the 1960s. The tragedy of Auschwitz is a painful memory of mass genocide.

Dramatically, in 1957, two cadres from the Sichuan Prison Bureau who participated in the site selection of the Shaping Labor Reform Farm were both classified as rightists in the "anti-rightist movement" and were sent to the Shaping Farm Labor Camp selected by themselves.

According to Zhang Fanghui, a Chinese-American, in 1960, more than 500 "idle people" in Shanghai, including his disabled parents and minor siblings, were forced to immigrate to the Kazakh area of Aksay, Gansu, where they lived on a farm in Wozi. The hell suffering from hunger and cold has become another little-known "Jiabian ditch". More than 500 people starved to death and more than 300, the death rate reached 60%. Decades later, he still has a deep impression of the horror of the Great Famine: people have turned into wild beasts for survival. I saw with my own eyes that when a child squatted down to defecate, another child crawled over and picked out unidentified animals from the defecation. The digested corn kernels are sent to the mouth. People who are dying of starvation are first swollen, then emaciated,

The whole head was only the size of a fist, and the nose was gone, and it collapsed, only two black nostrils were seen. The two lips are like dried orange peel, the gums are protruding, and the arms and legs are skinny, like hemp sticks. The big men just died like this, without a grave, without a tombstone, without a name, and disappeared from the world without a sound. In 1964, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for counter-revolutionary crimes for writing an article to reflect the truth of the Great Famine. He was not rehabilitated until 1980, and later went to the United States to study.

Sitting in front of the window, Chai Jianhua seemed to feel that he was sitting in a certain corner of the world, watching the wind and rain. He feels that this society is sick, very sick. When the pain strikes, crying is youthful, not crying is mature. In pain, people always need to change from youthful to mature. But the unspeakable pain, I want to forget, but I can't help but think about it... Many things will not change because of people's will, just like memories, sometimes the more you want to forget, the harder it is to forget up. There is no comparison of memories, and the taste in memories cannot be rediscovered.

As an old Chinese doctor, Chai Jianhua knows how to treat patients, but he sees that the society is sick, but he can't find a cure. Society is like this, people who always occupy an absolute leadership position will say that they are the sons of the people, but they don't know how to honor their parents. Amidst the slogan of the supremacy of the people, countless fools will shout that they have mastered their destiny, but they fail to see that happiness only belongs to the dignitaries who stand on the higher sky.

Raindrops can absorb sound, making the surrounding environment quieter than usual, and there are fewer people going out on rainy days than usual, so I am afraid that apart from the sound of raindrops, the only thing Chai Jianhua can hear sitting in front of the window is himself The voice of the heart.
