Under the guidance of
veteran Chinese medicine practitioner Chai Jianhua, Lin Huiting gradually got
her blood sugar under control. As usual, Lin Huiting came to Chai Jianhua's
place again and often gave Lin Huiting acupoint health care: massage the
Yinlingquan and Taixi points on her feet.
Seeing Lin Huiting
coming, Chai Jianhua warmly handed him a cup of yam thirst quenching tea.
Lin Huiting told Chai
Jianhua about the little-known past of "surpassing the British and chasing
the beautiful":
In 1957, China's "anti-rightists"
won a complete victory, and 600 million people completely surrendered. The
Soviet Union also took the lead in launching artificial satellites in the world
that year. The socialist camp seemed to have the upper hand. Insufficient world
prestige, insufficient qualifications, and ineffective means of dealing with
events in Eastern Europe and Poland and Hungary. He believes that his
qualifications, ability, wisdom, prestige, and level of handling world issues
are better than Khrushchev. Only he can take on the great task of world
communist leader. .
But when Khrushchev
proposed twice that the Communist Party of China should be the leading party of
the Communist Party of the world, and Lao Mao should be the leader of the
communist world, Lao Mao verbally refused to accept it, declaring that he would
still "be led by the Soviet Union." On a series of issues such as the
Stalin issue, the relationship between the parties of various countries,
socialism and capitalism, peaceful transition or war settlement, it launched a
comprehensive challenge to Khrushchev's leadership of the International
Communist Movement; and repeatedly humiliated, bullied, and suppressed Herst.
Even disregarding the basic diplomatic etiquette, he repeatedly stepped on
Hearst.
Lin Huiting said to Chai
Jianhua:
Once when Khrushchev
visited Beijing, Lao Mao organized Lin Biao, Peng Zhen and other party and
state officials to besiege Khrushchev. Among them, Chen Yi pointed his nose and
scolded him the most. Khrushchev responded angrily: "I know you are the
marshal, but I am the general secretary, you can't talk to me like this!"
Lao Mao sat aside to
watch the joke and sneered: "Comrade Khrushchev, don't be so
excited!"
In 1958, after
Khrushchev’s secret visit to China, Lao Mao suddenly and unilaterally announced
the news of Hearst’s visit and ordered the shelling of Quemoy, which caused the
United States and other Western countries to agree that Khrushchev deliberately
created tension after discussing with Lao Mao. , trying to start a war.
Khrushchev, who wanted to ease the Cold War conflict with the United States and
was afraid of triggering a war, was extremely annoyed but couldn't explain it.
In the same year,
Khrushchev proposed to Lao Mao through the Soviet ambassador to China Yudin to
cooperate with China to establish a long-wave radio station and a joint
submarine fleet. It is not difficult for a friendly country to cooperate and it
is beneficial to both countries, but Lao Mao made a big fuss and deliberately
made troubles. He became furious in front of Eugene, threatening to hurt
China's sovereignty and his self-esteem.
Khrushchev had to go to
Beijing to explain in person, but Lao Mao met with Hearst in the swimming pool
in his pajamas and asked Hearst to talk while swimming in the pool. Turn...
After being teased like this, Khrushchev finally realized that he had once
again suffered a great humiliation.
In 1959, the United
States sent several Sidewinder missiles to Taiwan. Taiwan successfully tested
it over Wenzhou, but one unexploded. The Soviet Union was researching
air-to-air missiles at that time, and some key technologies had not yet passed
the test, so they asked China to send the unexploded Sidewinder The missiles
were given to the Soviet side, but the Chinese refused to give them for various
reasons, which aroused strong dissatisfaction from the Soviet side: The modern
weapons and equipment of the Chinese army are all aided by the Soviet Union,
and they are still helping you develop nuclear weapons. Now we want a dud but
will not give it. Or another country. Khrushchev was enraged and ordered to
stop providing China with Qian Xuesen and others' ongoing missile research
technology. Only then did Lao Mao agree to give the rattlesnake dud to the
Soviet Union. The Soviet experts were dumbfounded when they opened the box
after receiving it. The missile was disassembled in a mess and could not be
restored. The sensor of the infrared guidance system that the Soviet Union
wanted most was missing...
Lin Huiting took a sip
of the yam thirst quenching tea and said to Chai Jianhua:
The relationship between
China and the Soviet Union has grown from close allies to greatest enemies,
just as the Chinese saying goes, "A liter of rice makes a benefactor, and
a bucket of rice makes an enemy." At that time, Lao Mao begged Stalin for
help like a slave. Stalin was often stingy and angry, but Lao Mao regarded
Stalin as "a great mentor and beloved father"; unequal terms,
returned the Lushun base, and provided large-scale and comprehensive industrial
and technical assistance to China; almost all the small arms aided by Stalin
were outdated World War II weapons, but Khrushchev provided active Soviet
equipment to make the Chinese People's Liberation Army Into modernity in one
fell swoop; Khrushchev
Fu also took great risks
and pressure to sign an assistance agreement with China for the manufacture of
nuclear submarines and atomic bombs, which has been implemented since 1956.
However, Lao Mao was condescending and disdainful of the others. He repeatedly
asked the Soviet Union for military technology and industrial equipment, and
always trampled on Khrushchev. Lao Mao proposed that "the east wind
overwhelms the west wind", not only does the socialist camp want to
overwhelm the western world, but also the Chinese party wants to overwhelm the
Soviet party, so that it can justifiably become the leader of the communist
world.
During the meeting in
Moscow, Mao casually commented on the differences and contradictions within the
Soviet Party in public. Mikoyan, chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme
Soviet of the Soviet Union, stood up to express his strong dissatisfaction. The
onlookers were also surprised. A note was passed around: "The struggle
between the Russians and the Chinese for leadership in the international
communist movement has begun."
However, although China
is a political power, a populous country and has become a military power that
dares to challenge the United States, the extreme backwardness of China's
economy has become Lao Mao's biggest worry, because being a world leader has to
pay a price and money. So when Khrushchev proposed at the meeting of the
Communist Workers' Party in Moscow that it would take ten years for the Soviet
Union to catch up with the United States, Lao Mao immediately proposed that
China could surpass the United Kingdom in ten years. Lao Mao's rhetoric of
"surpassing Britain in ten years" was telegraphed to Beijing that
night, and made a brilliant appearance in the People's Daily the next day, and
later evolved into "surpassing Britain and catching up with the United
States in fifteen years."
On November 13, 1957,
the People's Daily published an editorial, formally putting forward the slogan
of "Great Leap Forward", and began to advocate and launch the Great
Leap Forward. Lao Mao's Great Leap Forward "surpassing Britain and
catching up with the United States" is a fake, its real purpose is to
catch up with the Soviet Union and overwhelm Khrushchev.
Lao Mao declared that
"the development speed of China's industry can surpass that of the Soviet
Union." He often asked officials to compare the economic indicators of the
Great Leap Forward with the Soviet Union to see which era the Soviet Union was
equivalent to, and how far behind the Soviet Union was. China's steel output It
will be a few years before they catch up with the Soviet Union, so that they
can catch up with the Soviet Union economically as soon as possible, overwhelm
Khrushchev with confidence, and become the truly qualified leader of the
Communist world. Bo Yibo also conveyed Mao's whimsy at the National Industry
Secretary Meeting: "To get rid of superstition, the United States is
nothing. In less than a decade or two, the Soviet Union can become two
Americas, and we can become four Americas. "
In Lao Mao's wild
fantasy of the Great Leap Forward, the United States seems to have really
become a paper tiger that can be broken at a glance. Before long, China will
become four United States, which is twice as big as the Soviet Union's big
brother!
Chai Jianhua was very
surprised when he heard what Lin Huiting said. This was something he had never
heard of.
Lin Huiting took another
sip of the yam thirst quenching tea, and continued to say to Chai Jianhua:
At that time, after
careful investigation and analysis by the Soviet Union, they believed that
China’s Great Leap Forward violated the law of economic development, and did
not have the corresponding material foundation. "public" people's
communes. But in order not to offend Lao Mao and the Chinese Communist Party,
Khrushchev asked the Soviet officials not to express their views on the Great
Leap Forward and the People's Commune.
In 1956, the 20th
Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union criticized Stalin for his
personality cult and brutal purges, which aroused Mao’s vigilance and
dissatisfaction. "Historical Experience", criticizing the 20th
Congress of the Soviet Communist Party without naming names, the Soviet side
not only did not refute it, but also took the initiative to publish 200,000
copies and 1 million copies in the country to promote it, giving China enough
face.
But when Lao Mao was
complacent about the rapid rise of the Great Leap Forward and many countries
were inexplicably surprised and discussing it, all the newspapers and official
documents of the Soviet Union remained silent, including telegrams
congratulating China’s National Day, and did not mention the Great Leap Forward
and the People’s Commune, which deeply disappointed Lao Mao .
In July 1959, after more
than a year of China’s Great Leap Forward, Khrushchev had to talk about some of
his own views when he was pressed by reporters during his visit to Poland in
view of the ideological confusion it caused in the Soviet Union and the
socialist camp. He said that the establishment of the Great Leap Forward and
the People's Commune when the material and spiritual conditions were not
available may lead to unpredictable consequences; the Soviet Union also
established communes when it was collectivized in the 1920s, and there were
lessons from failure.
That day, Chai Jianhua
and Lin Huiting communicated for more than three hours. What Lin Huiting said
always gave Chai Jianhua an inexplicable feeling. , This is actually the reason
why Lao Mao fell out with the big brother of the Soviet Union in order to
become the world leader.
That night, Chai Jianhua
couldn't sleep again. He knew very well that Lin Huiting was a student studying
in the Soviet Union, and also worked as a translator. In the late 1970s, he
also served as a commissioner of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Bureau. What
about yourself? At the age of 17, he was used as cannon fodder by the national
army. Although he also beat Japan, the suppression of the counter-revolutionary
movement shortly after the founding of New China and the subsequent land reform
made him terrified. What he worried and feared was that he would be arrested
one day. In broad daylight, he was said to be a Kuomintang spy hiding in the
mainland.
