Agudengba started a new drifting life, but he was not alone. He was accompanied by a black ant. The black ant usually lived in the hole in Agudengba's hidden hat.

Along the way, the black ant told Agudumba the story of ants' life. These stories are a little sad.

The black ant told Agudumba:

Ants are small and elongated, with a large head, a pair of compound eyes and long antennae. Ants have an egg-shaped abdomen and come in various colors, including black, white, yellow, red and brown. Among them, female ants and male ants have wings, but worker ants do not.

The black ant said to Agudemba: The ant kingdom implements a strict caste system, divided into three levels: queen ant, soldier ant, and worker ant.

The queen ant is a reproductive female, or mother ant, who is the largest in the group, especially with large breasts and well-developed reproductive organs. After mating, she takes off her wings and becomes a new queen, commonly known as "princess" or "angel". But the queen ant cannot control the entire ant colony. In most species and situations, the queen is only responsible for laying eggs. Male ants, or father ants. The main function is to mate with the queen ant, commonly known as the "prince" or "mosquito". Death occurs shortly after mating is completed.

Soldier ants are the armed force of the ant tribe. They are responsible for protecting the safety of the tribe internally and resisting attacks or invasions by foreign tribes externally.

Worker ants are also called professional ants. Wingless, generally the smallest individual in the group, but the most numerous. The compound eyes are small and the single eye is very small or absent. The upper jaw, antennae and three pairs of legs are all well developed, and they are good at walking. Worker ants are unable to reproduce. The main duties of worker ants are to build and expand nests, collect food, feed larvae and queens, etc.

Worker ants use their jaws to dig holes in the ground and move sand grain by grain to build ant nests for collective living. There are many compartments in the ant nest, each of which has its own purpose. The ant nest is strong, safe, and comfortable, and the roads extend in all directions and are intricate. There is a circle of soil outside the ant nest, as well as some places to store food. The inside is ventilated, cool, warm in winter and cool in summer, and the food is not easy to spoil. The "chambers" of an anthill will remain in the same shape as when they were first constructed, unless the soil dries out significantly.

The black ant also proudly said to Agudumba:

Ants are the most common insects on earth and the most abundant group of insects. There are about ten quadrillion ants on the earth, accounting for a quarter of the total number of animals on the earth. Ants can be found in almost every corner of the land except for the two poles of the earth and the extremely cold areas above the snow line of mountains. Ants are organisms with the strongest ability to resist natural disasters in the world. They are polymorphic social insects and a social group. In ancient times, they were commonly known as "ants".

Agudengba asked the black ants: What do you usually eat?

The black ant replied: Ants eat a wide variety of food, and they like to eat all sweet and animal foods. Generally, it can be divided into two categories: one is animal bait, such as cattle, sheep, fish, pigs, chickens and other meat residues and thick blood. Various insects are also good food for ants, such as ground beetles, fly maggots, and silkworm pupae. , earthworms, etc. The second is foods with sweet flavor, such as red and white sugar, watermelon, honey, pear core, apple core, etc.

Agudengba asked the black ants again: Why don't you live in the snowy mountains?

Black Ant said: Ants are afraid of the cold, so they have the habit of hibernating. After the autumnal equinox, the weather turns cooler and the temperature begins to drop, and ants will be in the preparation stage for hibernation. After the beginning of winter, the temperature drops, and ants gradually stop moving and foraging and enter a state of hibernation. In order to hibernate, ants eat a lot of food in the fall to store body fat, and they do not eat throughout the following winter. Because of this, the worker ants in the ant colony are looking for food almost every day to ensure that each member of the colony can eat enough food to withstand the cold of winter. Ants dormant in ant nests on trees and underground ant nests begin to wake up and emerge from their hibernation around the time.

Agudengba chewed tsampa and put some tsampa crumbs in his hand to feed the black ants.

Agudumba asked the black ant: Can you tell me frankly? How do you view humans?

The black ant waved his tentacles and said:

When humans walk, no one will pay attention to whether the soles of their feet will crush an ant to death. In the eyes of some people, ants are weak and have no survival value. What's even more disgusting is that some aggressive and despicable people always like to use their lives as bets in games. For example, humans hold cockfighting, bullfighting, and cricket fighting activities, allowing innocent animals and insects to kill each other for their viewing pleasure. Ants are a hard-working and brave group. They never engage in internal fighting and live in harmony. The eyes of ants are very small, and some are single-eyed. They mainly rely on their antennae to determine direction when walking. In order to provoke conflicts among ants, evil people will break off the antennae of ants. The blind ants will only run around and bite each other. Fighting ants has become a political game of "mass versus mass" for evil people.

The black ants sadly and angrily sang the Tibetan Buddhist ballad "Song of Enlightenment":

 

The barking of vicious dogs is the same,
