Everyone has two me
Agudengba likes to travel. Unlike others, he
does not just enjoy the famous mountains, rivers and field scenery, but is keen
to investigate religion, nation, history and culture. He has visited India,
Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar, and finally Returning to Yunnan,
Sichuan, Guizhou and Tibet, we also learned about the history of Sumer and
Aryan along the way, and also explored ancient India, ancient Egypt, and
ancient Greece, including the rise and fall of the Mongol Empire. But the basic
travel trajectory is to explore the culture of the Western Regions in ancient
China.
Agudengba said to Lacuo:
I am going to visit Qinghai and Xinjiang.
Maybe this will be the end of my trip.
The leader of the caravan, Lacuo, hesitated
and said:
You met the old man Lavani in Bangladesh and
rescued his daughter Dawa girl, as well as the daughter of a Dorje musician in
Myanmar, allowing them to escape from the hateful prostitute island. I admire
your kindness so much about this. Musician Dorje knew that you wanted to visit
Tibet, so he asked me to lead a caravan to go with you. He did not give me any
business orders, but just asked me to take care of and protect you along the
way.
Lacuo took off two bags from his horse and
said to Agudengba:
There are two bags here, one bag contains
food, clothing and daily necessities, and the other bag contains coins and
jewelry, which you can use at any time.
Lacuo asked his caravan guys to bring
Agudengba's donkey Ma Hu
Said to Agudumba:
I will return to Myanmar. You are not
suitable for riding horses from Tibet to Qinghai. This is your mount and your
good partner. You can let the donkey help you carry your load.
Agudengba was a little surprised that Lacuo
was leaving, but he couldn't stop him. So the two of them drank and said
goodbye in the inn.
Lacuo said:
Along the way, I heard you talk a lot about
religion and myths and legends with the friends you made, and I benefited a
lot. But I don’t believe in the existence of gods. Whether it’s shamanism,
Hinduism, or Buddhism, it can’t change my view on life.
Agudemba was speechless.
Lacuo said:
I have lived with a Dorje musician from
Myanmar for a long time, and I often watch him play the piano. At that time, I
was thinking, how great it would be if I owned this piano. I could play
beautiful music with it, and I could also perform in front of the crowd and
show a different version of myself.
The Dorje musician saw what was on my mind
and taught me how to play the piano. But after playing it twice, I found that I
couldn't play the "First Symphony" like a Dorje musician. I even
found that I didn’t even know the sound of each white key, let alone how to read
the staff, and I didn’t know how to play. I even discovered that my fingers
were not divided.
Finally, I gave up my desire to learn to
play the piano.
From then on, I finally started to think
about myself. I got the opportunity to learn to play the piano. I was really
not happy at all. Learning to play the piano was not something I wanted and
could get. What I wanted was probably just to listen. A good piece of music,
rather than playing it yourself. But my brain converted that feeling into
materialistic desires, thinking that getting an electronic keyboard would give
me beautiful tunes.
Agudemba remained speechless.
Lacuo continued:
I suddenly discovered that there are two
people living in me in my life. One is the noisy, demanding, and cunning self;
the other is the hidden spiritual life, whose quiet voice of wisdom is only
occasionally heard or noticed by oneself.
I often think that in real life, each of us
is an "actor", acting out his own life according to the script every
day. The script is written with fantasy and lies, and among this group of
actors, there are those who are addicted to the plot, so they believe that it
is real, that gods and ghosts control the world, emperors are divinely
appointed, and wizards are humans and gods. The messenger, all people must obey
the will of God. Many ignorant people believe in the existence of God and soul,
including me.
I wanted to be a musician, but I couldn't
even read a musical score. It wasn't until that day that I discovered that when
I got what I wanted, I was actually unhappy inside because it didn't belong to
me.
Later, in a book, I saw knowledge that I
didn’t know, which is called brain cognition. When we see something, different
people's perceptions will lead to different results. Most of us grow up in an
environment filled with all kinds of information, which shapes our perceptions.
For example, if you have been living a lie, you will not know what the truth
is. Leaders talk about repentance and atonement, partners often chant to save
all sentient beings, emperors talk about serving the people, and dictators talk
about nationalism. Do you believe this is true? We have been shaped by this
kind of growth environment to be ignorant and ignorant, which is caused by
cognition.
It was the first time Agudengba heard what
Lacuo said, and it was so insightful.
Lacuo continued:
In fact, there is another true self in life,
the one who "holds truth and wisdom", and this is another me.
However, it is simply too difficult to
discover that "I" because our cognition has long been ingrained. When
we look for ourselves, the washed brain, subconscious mind and cognition begin
to operate, and it will make us hear "we "Want to hear the news. Just
like many people who go to fortune telling, they only hear the good things the fortune
teller says and don't pay much attention to the warnings. This is cognition
removing information that we don't want to care about.
In fact, the "I" that is formed
today by the "education" we received when we grew up and the
influence of various information is the "I" we perform every day.
In fact, there is a more real and
intelligent "I" that is wrapped up in these stupid cognitions, so
that we cannot see ourselves and can only hear the voice of lies.
When Lacuo said goodbye to Agudengba, he
sang a song "Retrieve My True Self":
In a confused
world,
Suddenly I made
a discovery,
in my life,
There have
always been two me.
One is ignorant,
Believe in gods,
Buddhas and souls,
Believe in
wizards and prophets,
Willing to be a
slave to the emperor.
One is spiritual
life,
Hidden deep in
my heart,
That is the
existence of the true self,
Don’t believe
myths and lies.
You and me in
reality,
Everyone is an
actor,
According to the
earthly script,
Play your part.
Among this group
of actors,
Some people are
addicted to drama,
Playing the role
of a divine saint,
The method of
controlling the people relies on deception.
If I want to
learn to practice,
Go find that
true self,
You have to let
go of your ignorance,
Live happily
every day.
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fableskes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s di masease.
