When Zhou Jianguo, Pan Guangfu, and Chai Jianmin
continued to chat about those things and people in the army during the Cultural
Revolution, they had to talk about Xu Shiyou.
The train is hung with carriages, which are long
and long, like a long dragon lying on the rails in the vast field, and
galloping forward like a wild horse running wild. the
Many people have a dream of pursuing happiness and
a feeling of leaving. They pack their bags and set off, leave the inland, and
go to Hong Kong. The train just carries Chai Jianmin's dream.
At this time, Chai Jianmin's heart was like a
bottle of five flavors overturned, and sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and
astringent rushed into his heart. The train was moving, and he bent over,
pressed his left hand on the window glass, and reluctantly raised his right
hand. Holding his chin, he fell into deep thought. In those tumultuous and
impetuous years, he hardly found any joy and happiness that belonged to him.
The sound of train wheels turning, like reggae music, gradually relaxed him
physically and mentally. He felt from his heart that his remaining years would
no longer be tossed about by brutal political struggles.
Chai Jianmin listened to Zhou Jianguo chatting
about the thrilling stories of Xu Shiyou during the Cultural Revolution, but
his heart was as calm as water.
The train has entered the territory of Jiangsu.
Zhou Jianguo pointed to the moving earth outside the window and said to Chai
Jianmin: This land once left Xu Shiyou's tyrannical and evil deeds during the
Cultural Revolution. In April 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Jiangsu
Province was established, and Xu Shiyou was appointed as the director of the
Revolutionary Committee of Jiangsu Province by the Central Committee. In 1969, the
Ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held, and Xu Shiyou
was elected as a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee. In
December 1970, he served as the first secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party
Committee. Xu Shiyou is grateful and loyal to the CCP.
However, during the Cultural Revolution, Xu Shiyou
not only exterminated the rebels who opposed him, but also took the opportunity
to eliminate dissidents and inform people.
After the Central Committee of the Communist Party
of China issued the "Notice on Cracking Down on the "May 16"
Counter-Revolutionary Conspiracy Group", Xu Shiyou immediately followed up
and devoted himself to digging deeper into the "May 16" war. It
lasted for more than three or four years, and the scope of attack was wide and
the methods were ruthless, unprecedented.
Xu Shiyou believes that the "May 16th"
organization has spread across all fronts and fields in Jiangsu. It is mass,
concealed, stubborn, and deceitful. It is very reactionary and dangerous.
According to this judgment, the whole province made the inventory deployment of
"break, encircle, sweep, and dig deep", and fought a people's war to
wipe out "May 16".
According to Xu Shiyou's investigation and
deployment, a second special case office with great power composed of military
"leftist" personnel was soon established at the provincial,
prefecture, city and county levels, referred to as "Second Office",
and Nanjing people called it "320" Office , in charge of the
inventory work, and has the power to detain, arrest, imprison, and interrogate
those involved in the "May 16" case. The Provincial "Second
Office" also set up a detention center for the "May 16th"
criminals, and transferred a company from the army to guard them. The
"second offices" at all levels are led by one or two main leaders of
the party, avoiding the collective leadership of the party committee. Entrusted
by Xu Shiyou, commander of the Nanjing Military Region, who is also the
"top leader" of the party and government in Jiangsu Province, the
provincial "Second Office" is under the sole control of Wu Dasheng, a
member of the "Left Support" who presides over the daily work of the
provincial party committee. Although the "Second Office" is not the
chief culprit of these unjust, false and wrongly decided cases, it has acted as
a ruthless thug. In order to dig deeper and wipe out the "May 16"
movement, the "Second Office" of the province also listed 31 issues.
Anyone who touches one of them must wear the "May 16" hat.
Xu Shiyou not only exterminated the rebels, but
also took the opportunity to eliminate dissidents from senior military cadres
like him. During the May 16 Movement in Jiangsu, Xu Shiyou opposed the boycott
attitude of the Cultural Revolution, practiced it personally, and devoted
himself fully. He personally interrogated the May 16 suspects, and even beat
the deputy director of the political department of the military region under
investigation. During the Cultural Revolution, Xu Shiyou also sent down a large
number of urban residents. His actions made him a lot like the Khmer Rouge, or
to be precise, he was the ancestor of the Khmer Rouge. Xu Shiyou's atrocities
during the Cultural Revolution were far more brutal than the Khmer Rouge!
Zhou Jianguo said that even in such an extraordinary
period as the Cultural Revolution, I don't think there were many "bad
people" who caused trouble, and the Cultural Revolution was not a history
of struggle between good people and bad people. Under the circumstances at that
time, everyone's behavior can find reasons.
Take Ye Jianying as an example. He has been a rebel
since he fell to Luoyang in 1965. After he rebelled against Luo Ruiqing, he
continued the revolution and rebelled against Peng Zhen. What is particularly
disgusting is that after Luo Ruiqing's Shanghai meeting is over, there will be
a cultural evening. Most of the participating cadres were at a loss, but Ye
Shuai was in a good mood and performed Pingtan on the spot. In the past year,
during the second meeting to criticize Luo Ruiqing, Luo Ruiqing attempted
suicide by jumping off a building. Ye Jianying satirized it with the phrase
"the general's reputation has been ruined in a hundred battles".
These behaviors seem inhumane, but if we examine why Ye Jianying did this, we
will understand his mood.
In the early days of liberation, Ye Jianying took
power in South China, emphasized regional characteristics, and implemented the
policy that was later criticized as "peaceful land reform". Under the
auspices of Luo Ruiqing, Tan Zhengwen (Tan Lifu's father) and others, another
"double-reporting case" was organized, and Chen Bo, the director of
the Guangdong Public Security Bureau, and Chen Kun, the deputy director of the
Guangzhou Public Security Bureau were arrested, saying that they were British
spies. The Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department systematically
arrested more than 700 people, and the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security
Bureau arrested more than 300 people, and tortured them to extract confessions.
Later, when he was brought to Beijing for interrogation, the criminals crowded
the two compartments full. The case took two years to close, and Chen Bo was
sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crime of "losing his revolutionary
stance and shielding counter-revolutionaries and secret agents". Chen Kun
died in prison in October 1952 because of unbearable abuse, and was also
sentenced to 8 years in prison. Chen Bo was released from prison in 1961 and
sent to a labor camp to work on a labor camp. He died of illness in 1972. During
the Cultural Revolution, some rebels reversed the case for them. But Chen Bo
himself may not know. They died without seeing the light.
So knowing these historical allusions, and looking
at Ye Jianying's performance during the Cultural Revolution, it is understandable.
One can imagine how happy he was in 1965-1966. This is also human nature, not
surprising.
Zhou Jianguo said that during the entire Cultural
Revolution, there were two villains who might never be forgiven, and that was
Xu Shiyou and Wei Guoqing. Looking at the land of Jiangsu outside the train,
Zhou Jianguo said to Pan Guangfu and Chai Jianmin, I just want to talk about
that Xu Shiyou.

回复删除Today is like a crow gathering, and tomorrow will disappear like a beast. This is the case for hooligans, politicians, and ignorance people. Today, you can mix together, and will run counter to the benefit tomorrow. I explore the novels of group psychology, hoping that more people in the world can wake up from nightmares.
