Monkey crossing the sea

Monkey crossing the sea

When Agudengba told the donkey the mythical story of the monkey coming out of the mountain, he sang a song called "Quiet Viewing and Introspection" in which the old fairy monkey Yamabhavan taught the monkey Hanuman. Agudengba said to the donkey: The monkey god Hanuman has come out of the mountain. He accepted the task of the monkey king Sugriva to lead the monkey army on the west route and go straight to the western mountains to find Sita. The old immortal monkey Yamabhavan was not at ease with the divine monkey Hanuman, and asked him to stay quiet, meditate, reflect frequently, and avoid dust.

Agudemba said to the donkey:

After the divine monkey Hanuman walked out of the Pure Forest, monkey armies were jumping all over the mountains and plains in the southeast, northwest and northwest. They searched every island, every jungle, every mountain, every stream. But where is the shadow of Sita? The three armies all went away dejectedly. Only Hanuman and the West Army led by the Monkey King's nephew were still searching tenaciously in the mountains. The sacred monkey Hanuman keeps in mind the teachings of the old monkey. If the heart moves, everything will move; if the heart is calm, everything will be peaceful. He began to observe all the changes around him.

Finally, Hanuman, the monkey god, met an old and bald vulture on a rock. The vulture's eyes were blind, and its wings that once soared into the sky were scorched by the sun and could no longer fly. It could only stop on the rock to breathe.

The great eagle told the monkey Hanuman that Sita was snatched away by the ten-headed demon Ravana, and it was this Ravana who killed the great eagle's younger brother. The Eagle has been eager to avenge his brother for thirty years.

The great eagle also said that the gods once told him that only when a prince named Rama contributes to a just cause will his day of revenge be fulfilled. But who is Rama? Where is he? What day can the Great Eagle look forward to?

The divine monkey Hanuman said to the big eagle: I am the monkey army under Rama.

The great eagle was very happy. He panted and pointed to Hanuman, saying that there is an island far away in the southern sea. There is a beautiful city of Lanka on the island. The ten-headed demon Ravana lives in the city, and Sita also lives in the city. Must be locked up there.

Hanuman was surprised to find that as the vulture spoke, its feathers gradually grew fuller, its huge wings became strong and powerful again, and its eyes regained its sparkle. The vulture miraculously regained its vision and youth. Spread your wings and fly into the blue sky. The words of the gods came true: helping Rama's just cause restored the eagle's fighting power for revenge.

The divine monkey Hanuman was extremely excited. Following the instructions of the big eagle, he led the monkey army to the seaside.

The monkey god Hanuman flew into the clouds and looked around, but he didn't know where Lanka Island was. But he still kept in mind the teachings of the old monkey, not impatient, not impatient, and observed calmly.

On this day, the sacred monkey Hanuman met a practitioner named Sambadi. Sambadi told the sacred monkey that Lanka Island is on the other side of the sea and can only be reached by crossing the boundless sea.

The monkey god Hanuman happily thanked the practitioners, jumped up on the clouds, and prepared to cross the sea to the country of Lanka.

The sea is so vast, as if it can hold the entire universe. On the undulating blue sea, the water and sky are all misty gray-blue. No matter how far you look, you can't find the island of Lanka. How to cross this sea and find Lanka Island? All the monkeys were talking and chattering, but no one had the strength to jump across the sea.

Hanuman began to stare at the water in a daze. He remembered the teachings given to him by the old immortal monkey Yama Po Fan. He meditated on the seaside, put his palms together and chanted sutras.

At this time, the weather-beaten and experienced old immortal monkey Yan Pofan suddenly appeared in front of him. Seeing Hanuman's sad face, the old immortal monkey Yamabhavan enlightened him and said: "O heroic Hanuman who knows everything, why are you silent? Don't you know who you are? "

The old immortal monkey Yamabhavan told Hanuman about chasing the sun when he was a baby, and told him: "You are the only divine monkey who has the ability to jump across this sea. Jump."

Deep in Hanuman's brain, a heavy door of memory was suddenly opened by his teacher, and a gray emptiness was filled with colorful past events.

Hanuman suddenly remembered that he was the son of the wind god, and remembered his power and everything in his childhood. Hanuman suddenly became proud and energetic. At this time, the old immortal monkey Yan Pofan disappeared.

Hanuman stood up, stretched his limbs, and was eager to try.

All the monkey soldiers gathered around and looked expectantly at their general, the monkey god Hanuman.

An old monkey told him seriously:

"The lives of us monkeys depend on you. If Sita cannot be saved, we will all be beheaded because we have exceeded the one-month deadline. We stand on one leg and wait for your return."

Hanuman's eyes were bright and he nodded solemnly. He turned and looked towards the mountains on the shore, looking for the best starting point. His eyes fell on a flat-topped peak from which he would launch himself across the sea.

Hanuman jumped up slightly, soared into the air, drew a graceful arc in the air, and landed on the flat-topped peak. Clean, light and agile, he is worthy of being a descendant of the God of Wind. All the monkey soldiers cheered together to encourage their general, the monkey god Hanuman.

The cheers alarmed the gods in the sky. They looked down and realized that the monkey god Hanuman was about to jump across the sea to the island of Lanka. Huh! This is unusual. The gods were very interested and pressed their heads one after another to see what happened.

Hanuman took off. He took a deep breath, bent down, arched his back, raised his tail, slightly bent his legs, stood still for a moment, and then jumped suddenly. A golden arrow shot straight into the sky. The trees, flowers and grass on the mountain were uprooted by the strong wind, forming a stream of colorful flowers, which fell into the sea one after another, like brilliant stars filling the blue sky. The monkey soldiers roared with joy for a long time.

The gods in the sky were very happy to see Hanuman's skill and skill, and sprinkled flowers and nectar on him to encourage him.

A god said to Menaka, the golden-domed mountain at the bottom of the sea:

"Stand up, Lord of Mountains, and let Hanuman rest on you and dance the rest of the way."

The golden-domed Menaka emerges from the sea, reveals its peak, and greets Hanuman. The flying monkey saw a mountain peak suddenly appearing on the sea. He couldn't help but feel happy and shouted: "Okay! He came just in time! He landed on the top of the mountain, took a rest, jumped into the sky again, and continued flying."

The gods wanted to test Hanuman's ability, so they ordered Dashurasa to give Hanuman some problems. Surasa stood in the sea and turned into a demon as tall as a mountain. He grabbed the monkey, opened his bloody mouth, and said:

"The gods gave you to me as a snack, and I want to swallow you."

Seeing this, Hanuman quickly clasped his hands together, stood respectfully on Surasa's palm, explained his mission to it, and asked it to give way.

After hearing this, the fake devil laughed a few times, flicked his huge tongue loudly, and insisted on eating Hanuman. Hanuman became furious and shouted:

"Open your mouth! I'm afraid you can't eat me!"

After that, he swayed slightly and his body became ten feet wide and ten feet long. Xurasa opened his mouth hard and it turned out to be twenty feet long. Hanuman was so angry that he changed his size to thirty feet, then ninety feet, but the fake demon's blood-filled mouth opened to eighty feet, then one hundred feet.

Hanuman stood near Surasa's mouth and saw that the demon's tongue was wide and long, like a large suspension bridge. With an idea, he immediately shrank to the size of a thumb and jumped into the demon's mouth. Before the devil could close his mouth as wide as the sea, he jumped out quickly, somersaulted into the air, and said loudly:

"I just jumped out of your mouth. It's a pity that you are not lucky enough to eat me. Thank you very much!" The monkey god Hanuman gave a weird salute to make fun of the fake demon Surasa, then turned around and flew away.

The monkey god Hanuman continued to move forward, with white clouds following behind him. The figure fell on the ground and became a rapidly moving shadow. He was flying happily, but suddenly he felt like a boat encountering headwinds and unable to move forward. what happened? He turned his brown monkey eyes and looked around intently.

ah! It turned out to be her! I saw a big guy clumsily crawling out of the sea. Hanuman recognized that this was the old witch Sansika who specialized in catching shadows and eating people. He smiled secretly and swelled his body until it was so big that it covered the sky and the sun.

When the witch Seng Xika saw it, she also hurriedly opened her mouth wide, reaching up to the sky and down to the earth, lying in front of the monkey, as if she wanted to eat the whole world. Through her huge throat, the monkey god saw her heart, which is the most critical part of the body. He immediately shrank his body, jumped into the witch's throat, took out her heart with his sharp claws, and rushed out of the witch's mouth like a whirlwind. The witch collapsed to the ground like a deflated leather bag, dead.

When the gods saw Hanuman killing the witch so neatly, they couldn't help praising him and blessing him. The monkey thanked the gods and jumped up into the clouds. In a moment, he was over the Lanka Island.

When Agudengba told the donkey the mythical story of the monkey crossing the sea, he excitedly sang the song "The Monkey Crossing the Sea":

Tall trees in the forest

They all grow from saplings

Towering buildings in the royal city

Built on piles of loess

Life's journey of thousands of miles

Take one step at a time

any strong cohesion

It’s all accumulated since childhood

Gathering sand to form a tower, accumulating tiny pieces to form a masterpiece

It is from this principle

many people want to succeed

But I am lazy every day

Not interested in doing anything well

Ask him why he can't work hard

He always says he only does big things

Disdainful of trivial matters

They don't know how to make small changes

It is the power given by nature

From small to large, from weak to strong

It is also the law of development of things

The monkey god Hanuman suddenly became enlightened

It relies on the accumulation of hard work day and month.

Improved one’s knowledge

He persists with perseverance

The monkey god Hanuman successfully crossed the sea

This thing seems unusual

The cheers alarmed the gods in heaven

Mainly because of his incredible power

It was also through his hard work that he practiced

Slowly achieve success by accumulating small amounts

Even water droplets can penetrate stones

As long as you persist and don’t give up

will succeed one day

  1. Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
