In 221 BC (Gengchen), Qin Shihuang destroyed the last vassal
state, Qi, and unified the six kingdoms.
On January 10, 9 AD (the end of the Wuchen Year), Wang Mang
usurped the throne, named the country "Xin", and the Western Han
Dynasty fell.
In AD 68 (Wuchen), Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty ordered
the construction of the White Horse Temple in Luoyang and invited two Indian
Buddhist masters to compile the Buddhist scripture "The Sutra of Forty-two
Chapters" in the temple. Buddhism began to spread in China.
In 200 AD (Gengchen), the armies of Cao Cao and Yuan Shao fought,
known in history as the Battle of Guandu. Cao Cao defeated more with less and
laid the foundation for unifying the north.
In AD 1592 (Renchen), the Ming-Wanli Korean War broke out. In
December, the Ming court appointed managers Song Yingchang and Li Rusong to
fight in the DPRK.
In 1856 AD (Bingchen), Hong Xiuquan secretly ordered the Northern
King Wei Changhui and the Yi King Shi Dakai to rush back to Nanjing and kill
the Eastern King Yang Xiuqing. Later, Wei Changhui and Shi Dakai had an
internal quarrel, and Shi Dakai ran away overnight. This is the "Tianjing
Incident".
In 1916 AD (Bingchen), Cai E, the governor of Yunnan, launched a
war against Yuan Huguo. In the same year, Yuan Shikai died of illness.
In 1976 AD (Bingchen), there was a major earthquake in Tangshan.
Zhou Enlai, Mao Zedong, and Mao Zedong died of illness successively. The
"Gang of Four" was crushed and the Cultural Revolution ended.
