Evil debt
Chu Sanxing chatted with Agudengba about
debt collectors. Agudengba talked about the principles of cause and effect and
reincarnation. Chu Sanxing talked about a debt story in his memory.
Chu Sanxing said:
There is a Piao village by the Irrawaddy
River in Myanmar. There is a wealthy man in the village who is kind-hearted and
has a prosperous family. The ancestors of this wealthy man came from the
Buddha's tribe in North India. They retained many Indian cultural customs and
entered Myanmar from Assam, India, around AD. Later, according to legend, in
200 BC, the Pyu people entered the upper reaches of the Irrawaddy River,
controlled this area, and controlled the trade route between China and India.
The ancestors of Wen Caizhu were originally
from the Piao tribe. Later, they made a fortune doing business in Bagan City
and settled here.
At that time, there was a Piao town outside
the city. There was a Piao village in the town. There lived a bricklayer named
Su Dengsheng. He often went to the house of Wen Wen to do odd jobs. Wen Wen saw
that he worked hard and paid more every time. Su Thein Sein was also very
grateful for some wages.
Over time, the two of them became familiar
with each other and often drank and chatted together. Wen Wen had great trust
in Su Thein Sein.
This summer, Mr. Wen and his family were
going back to their hometown in Shan State to visit relatives, saying they were
going to live there for a month. Wen Wen came to Su Dengsheng and said,
"Little brother, I have been away for a long time this time, and I want to
ask you to help me with something."
Su Dengsheng said: "Mr. Wen, you treat
me well. If you have anything to say, just ask me. As long as I can do it, I
will do it without any hesitation!"
Wen Wen said: "I have a batch of good
wine stored in my house. I'm afraid that the servants will drink it secretly
after we leave. I want to put it in your house for safekeeping for a few days.
Do you think it's okay?"
Su Deng Sheng said with a smile:
"Isn't this a trivial matter? I happen to have a cellar in my house. You
can use it to store it. When you come back, I will definitely 'return it to
Zhao intact'!"
In this way, that evening, Su Dengsheng
pulled a donkey cart and transported thirty jars of his family's wine to his
cellar with Wen Wen. In order to reassure Wen Wen, he placed a big stone on the
entrance of the cellar.
The next day, Rich Man Wen took his whole
family on the road back to his hometown with peace of mind.
Chu Sanxing continued:
Half a month passed. That night, Su
Dengsheng drank some wine and lay in bed unable to sleep. He suddenly remembered
the wine that Wen Wen had stored at home. Out of curiosity, he wanted to take
advantage of the silence of the night to take a look at what it was. liquor.
So he sneaked into the cellar alone and saw
that the thirty wine jars were all sealed with brown paper, and the three
characters "Bagan Wine" were written on each jar in red paper.
He put his nose to a wine jar and smelled
it, but there was no smell of wine at all. He shook the wine jar again with his
hand. The sound coming from inside was not the sound of wine shaking, but like
something hard object colliding with it. sound.
Out of curiosity, he opened a wine jar, and
the sight in front of him surprised him: the wine jar was not wine at all, but
a jar full of white silver!
Su Densheng opened the remaining
twenty-nine wine jars, and they were all filled with silver! He counted and
found that the silver was exactly three thousand taels.
The first thought that flashed through Su
Thein Sein’s mind was: I’m rich! In the face of money, he had already thrown
away his original promise.
In this way, Su Theng Sein sat guarding the
money all night. Early the next morning, he hurriedly called his wife, who was
also shocked by what she saw.
After some discussion, the couple poured
out the three thousand taels of silver and buried them all in the backyard.
Su Densheng went to the restaurant to buy
another batch of wine and poured it all into the thirty wine jars.
For this reason, he was still very proud,
thinking that this clever plan was really clever, and Rich Man Wen would
definitely not be able to do anything to him.
Chu Sanxing glanced at Agudengba and said:
A month later, Wen returned from Shan
State, and Su Thein Sein returned the thirty jars of wine to him.
At night, Rich Man Wen opened the wine jar
and was dumbfounded when he saw that the silver had turned into wine!
He immediately understood that his life
savings had been taken for himself by Su Thein Sein. Wen Wen went to find Su
Dengsheng overnight. He had already decided that he only needed half of the money
and the other half would be used as a lesson.
Unexpectedly, Su Thein Sein did not admit
that he exchanged wine for money. He wanted to keep it all for himself!
Wen Wen was in trouble because when the
wine jar was delivered to his house, he said it contained wine, and the
servants all heard it. Now, even if he reports to the official, he has no
evidence!
Wen Wen had no choice but to walk back home
depressed. After a sudden burst of anger, Wen fell ill and died of depression
within a few days.
After Mr. Wen died, Su Dengsheng was
relieved. He used the money to buy a big house, which was decorated so
luxuriously that he couldn't help but sigh: Now I have become a master!
People are in high spirits when happy
events happen. His wife, who had not been pregnant for many years, unexpectedly
got pregnant soon, which made Su Dengsheng smile from ear to ear.
In a blink of an eye, the day came when his
wife was due to give birth, and Su Thein Sein received the midwife at home a
few days in advance. He paid great attention to the child.
That night, Su Thein Sein had a dream not
long after he fell asleep. He dreamed that Mr. Wen came over with a smile. He
walked slowly to Su Thein Sein carrying an empty sack.
Su Thein Sein was so frightened that his
hair stood on end. He said, "What are you doing here? Aren't you
dead?"
Rich Man Wen's expression suddenly changed
and he said sternly: "I'm here to collect debts!"
Su Dengsheng suddenly woke up in a cold
sweat. Before he could recover from the dream, the door suddenly opened and the
midwife told him happily: "Congratulations, my wife has given birth to a
big fat boy!"
Su Thein Sein hurriedly got up and went to
see it, leaving this nightmare behind...
Chu Sanxing sighed to Agudengba:
Su Thein Sein was very doting on his hard-won
son. He would buy whatever he wanted and never let him suffer at all.
Under the pampering of his father, his son
spent money like water since he was a child. He has no ability to study and
work, but he knows how to eat, drink and have fun better than anyone else.
At the age of eighteen, Su Thein Sein could
no longer control him, and he also snatched the key to the cash box at home.
Not only that, his son was not filial to Su Thein Sein at all. He also said
that he would inherit the family property sooner or later, so it was better to
hand it over to him as soon as possible.
Su Thein Sein was half-mad with his son
every day, but there was nothing he could do about it. Who could he blame for
the evil he had done? The son takes money from home every day, either to go to
a brothel or a casino, or to gather a group of friends to eat, drink and have
fun, and all the money comes from him. He has never made money with his sweat,
and people who don’t know how to make money are not good at it. easy……
When his son was twenty years old, the
family property had been squandered. On this day, Su Thensheng, who had been
ill for many days, was lying on the bed dying. In a daze, he dreamed of Wen Wen
again. This time, the big sack behind Wen Wen had become bulging. He waved to
Su Thensheng and said: "The debt you owed me has now been paid off, and
it's time for me to leave. Let's stay together indefinitely!"
At this moment, Su Thein Sein was woken up
by a fierce knock on the door. Then, a group of Shan men broke in. Each of
these people looked like a ferocious spirit. The leader took out a piece of
paper and said: "Your son We have lost this house, here is the
certificate, you get out of here quickly, we are here to collect the
house!"
Su Dengsheng smiled bitterly and murmured:
"My debt has finally been paid off!" After saying that, a mouthful of
blood spurted out from his mouth, and he fell to the ground, no longer alive...
Agudengba said to Chu Sanxing:
There is a popular saying among Chinese
people, which is called "A son repays his father"
When two enemies who had a deep feud in the
previous life were reincarnated into the next life, many parents would often
call their children "debt collectors" because they were troubled.
This is the principle of reincarnation.
Chu Sanxing sang a song "Debt" in
Burmese:
After
the death of a young child,
Reborn
as a debt collector,
To
avenge my parents,
Fulfill
filial piety and claim debts from previous lives.
Debt
collectors are naughty boys;
Revenge
for sinful debts comes in many forms,
Cause
and effect are all predestined in previous lives.
Debt
from past lives begins with bad karma.
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fableskes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s di masease.
