Retribution
When Chu Sanxing told Agudengba about the
debt collectors, Agudengba said to Chu Sanxing:
Have
you heard of the saying “children are debt collectors”? In fact, it is not only
the Chinese who believe this, but also the Burmese people. This is a deep
relationship of retribution, repaying kindness or repaying grudges. The more
people are morally corrupt and hurt each other, the more likely they are to
complain.
Agudengba told Chu Sanxing something that
happened during the Bagan Dynasty:
At the end of the Bagan Dynasty, the
surrounding ethnic groups such as the Shan, Mon, and Rakhine ethnic groups
became increasingly powerful, their respective forces grew stronger, and the
conflicts with the Bagan Dynasty also continued to increase. At the same time,
during the Yuan Dynasty of China, Kublai Khan sent envoys to Bagan many times
to recruit surrender, but to no avail. In 1287, Yuan soldiers attacked Bagan
from the Yunnan region. Bagan was defeated and Bagan became a vassal state of
the Yuan Dynasty. After that, Bagan was divided. The Shan people established
the Ava Kingdom in eastern Myanmar, and the Mon people established the Bago
Kingdom in the south.
There was a man named Meng Junbi in Haiwei
Town, Ava Kingdom, who opened a rice shop. A customer named Ma Chun'en
entrusted the rice shop with more than a hundred gold as part of Meng Junbi's
cost of buying rice. As for the profits, Meng Junbi can also give him part of
the money paid by Ma Chunen.
In this way, the cashiers were correct for
two years, and Ma Chunen got the money he deserved. But in the third year, Meng
Junbi told Ma Chunen that someone had borrowed rice but never paid. As a
result, Ma Chunen never received the money, and he felt that he might not be
able to get the principal back. As a result, he became depressed and became
ill, and died after a while.
Meng Junbi's wife Anulu has never had
children. One day, Anulu suddenly dreamed of Ma Chun'en. She knew that Ma
Chun'en was dead. Could this be the reappearance of his soul?
Ma Chunen said to Anulu: Your husband
defrauded me of my money and he should get retribution. I know you don't have
kids, and if you and I intersect, you can get pregnant with our kids, and
that's not a bad thing for you.
In this way, Meng Junbi's wife Anulu soon
became pregnant.
When Anulu was full term and it was time to
give birth, the midwife came and told Meng Junbi, "You have given birth to
a son!"
Meng Junbi was very happy to finally have a
son, but he did not know that the child was actually the child of Anulu and Ma
Chunen.
Agudengba continued to say to Chu Sanxing:
Meng Junbi still runs his rice shop. His wife
Anuruze has been teaching her son to read. But when her son was three years
old, Anuru suddenly died. The cause of death was very strange, because Anulu
had been meeting Ma Chun'en in his dreams, which made Anulu very guilty and
self-blame, especially when Ma Chun'en said to Anulu in his dream: Our son is a
"debt collector." Will avenge me.
After Anulu died of depression, Meng Junbi
had to take his son to the library to raise him. When the child is four or five
years old, Mr. Library begins to teach the child how to read and read. When
children are fifteen or sixteen years old, they can read the "Buddhist
Book" and "Tao Te Ching" familiarly.
As the child grew up, Meng Junbi prepared to
marry his son a wife. When the engagement ceremony was about to take place, his
son suddenly fell seriously ill and almost died. Before he died, he suddenly
said in his father's name: "Meng Junbi, you opened a rice shop. I once entrusted
you with more than a hundred gold as part of the cost of buying rice. However,
you said that someone borrowed it. Mi, you haven't given me any money. You and
I are doing business together and you owe me more than two hundred gold. Now
you should pay me back five thousand three hundred gold. Pay me back quickly!
If you pay me back, I will go!" After that, he was angry. Die from death.
Agudengba said to Chu Sanxing:
I once told Meng Junbi: "Your son's real
parents are your wife Anulu and Ma Chun'en. He is the incarnation of Ma
Chun'en, and he came to you for revenge."
Meng Junbi was stunned for a moment.
Agudenba said:
I immediately asked someone to make ginseng
soup. As soon as the ginseng soup was finished, Meng Junbi died before he could
drink it.
Agudengba said to Chu Sanxing: "I don't
know how many children died in the four seas and in one day. It can be said
that most of these children were reincarnated to avenge their debtors."
Agudengba sang a song "Retribution of
Wrongful Injustice" in Shan language:
There
are many evil people who deceive and abduct,
Failure
to repay debt becomes a bad habit;
In
order to claim debts from past lives,
Retribution
of grievances is passed down from generation to generation.
The
poor are in debt and become old people,
The
rich man became a debt collector,
The
debt is left to the next generation,
Being
debt-free begins with the fate of the past life.
