Why did Mao Zedong want to rectify the movement? In
order to find the answer, Nanshanyun checked the data of the year on the
computer and mobile phone.
Nan Shanyun saw some data of Peng Zhen's speeches
in that year.
In 1957, Peng Zhen, secretary of the Beijing
Municipal Party Committee, said in a speech: At present, the main thing is to
"let go". Only allow me to let it go, not you. I am always right.
This is the style of a bully. Some cadres do not distinguish between the two
contradictions and treat the people in the same way as counter-revolutionaries.
Veteran cadres were tempered during class struggle; but now class struggle is
basically over, contradictions among the people are prominent, and cadres
(thoughts) have not changed. When it comes to contradictions, we are the main
one. Now it is not extreme democracy, but democracy is not enough. The masses
dare not write their names in letters. 20% of senior intellectuals want to join
the party, and a batch should be developed immediately. "
In May 1957, at the meeting of the leaders of
various agencies, colleges and factories held by the Beijing Municipal Party Committee,
the leaders of the Municipal Party Committee deployed the rectification
movement. Peng Zhen, Secretary of the Listing Committee, and Liu Ren, Deputy
Secretary both spoke at the meeting.
Peng Zhen said:
The current situation is better than the Yan'an
rectification movement. Once checking the contradictions, all the
contradictions came out. Peking University launched the "Ming Fang"
earlier, the National People's Congress, Tsinghua University also started, and
the Normal University... . It can be seen that our party is in disarray.
Although we have only been in the city for more than 7 years, the idea of
privilege is so heavy, sectarianism, and people outside the party have
positions but no rights. Some party members and cadres said, "I am the leader,
so what are you doing!" So much bureaucracy, and dogmatism. ... In
colleges and universities, it is outrageous to issue notices to professors
without addressing them as "comrade", but with "this
order"! I don't know where I learned it, how dare you "this order!"
Only Chairman Mao sometimes uses "order".
Peng Zhen said and continued: At present, Shanghai
and Beijing (Mingfang) are much louder...Now they are more tense, and some
people panic, and some commit suicide. Many Shanghai workers and students
petitioned, hundreds of them. In this way, it will not take long to adjust the
atmosphere.
So far, criticisms can be divided into three
categories: (1) It is true that we have shortcomings and mistakes, at least 90%
of them are this kind of criticism, and they are correct, no matter how ugly
they are; (3) There are still reactionary ideas crowing: instead of working
class leadership, bourgeois leadership is needed. Some people are not
criticizing but counterattacking. These opinions are a minority.
Newspapers should not tick off bad words, but
believe that the masses can identify them, and they will be isolated among the
masses if they speak out. Some newspapers have ticked off the bad words,
because they are weak and afraid of being ruined. ----It's just ruined, let's
do underground work for a few more years, fight guerrillas, and carry out a
25,000-mile long march, what's so scary?
If our shortcomings and problems are not rectified,
the country will perish. Now that the day is over, there are fewer people
taking a nap.
There is also a lot of full bureaucracy, occupying
the latrine and not shitting.
Peng Zhen also said:
Putting forward opinions should also be resolved.
All possible solutions should be resolved.
Some cadres put their wives in the mail room and
personnel room of the school. No one has high work ability, but their rank is
higher than others. It is not the tradition of our Communist Party to serve the
people wholeheartedly to fight desperately for rank within the party, not to
dispute how much work one has done, and not to talk about contributions. People
are more capable and capable than you, level 15; but you are level 13, and you
still compete with others, you are so low-level! A downgrade should be offered
automatically. Don't make it bad fun. A principal, in the same yard, and set up
a mail room (just for you), aren't you looking for scolding? !
"This order!"——Why don't you
"Sincerely, salute!" The municipal party committee gave you a
"This order", are you comfortable?
You caused the storm yourself, who is to blame?
Some comrades were very angry and said they would hang themselves. ...
A cadre was promoted, and then removed (changed)
the desk and removed (changed) the chair,...why is it so vulgar!
Some party members will push and punch, and push
out their own affairs, not thinking of the masses. A Communist should behave
like a Party member. I didn't do a good job in my own work, and whenever I
encountered criticism from others, I would punch away, selfish! (Guo Note: I
remember that Peng’s words were harsh criticisms of a factory party secretary
who was present at the meeting. He was questioned by Liu Ren and Peng Zhen at
the meeting, and he was still “stretching away from the body” during the
on-the-spot self-criticism, which caused Peng and Liu to be very upset. Great
dissatisfaction. I heard Peng criticize him mercilessly in public, and I deeply
felt that the leaders of the municipal party committee were vigorous and
resolute in the rectification movement).
The factory workers are the proletariat's own team,
so don't mess it up. For primary and middle school students (the issue of their
way out), absolutely do not make wishes. As long as he works, he works as an
apprentice in a factory, or as a farmer in the countryside (it doesn't matter).
Don't make a wish, don't have to run for Chairman Mao, don't buy a good one for
you, I'll buy a good one, this is a philistine style. What to say "I have
no opinion, just look at the leadership."
While rectifying the work, listening to opinions
and making improvements.
At this meeting, Liu Ren, deputy secretary of the
Beijing Municipal Party Committee, also spoke, making arrangements for the
rectification movement, and his words were also very severe. Among them, some
bureaucratic and sectarian corrupt styles in the party were criticized.
Liu Ren pointed out:
People who have opinions or dissatisfaction with us
should be able to raise them. They want to see, afraid of putting a long line
to catch big fish. Most of the criticism is right now. …Three evils and five
evils, we are the ones who punish them, this time we should let them express
their grievances, and listen to the more ugly words. If it is not rectified,
the Communist Party will continue to be corrupt, and the world may not be ours.
Good medicine tastes bitter and is good for the disease. ...Northeast Shenyang
Institute of Technology requested a public trial of the five-member
anti-revolutionary group. …Anyone who made a mistake must apologize; those who
struggled at the congress will still apologize at the congress, and the
municipal party committee will be responsible in the end. The more proactive
you are in this matter, the better, don't be shy, don't admit your mistakes and
don't admit your mistakes. The conclusion of eliminating
counter-revolutionaries can also be considered to be retracted, and should not
be included in youth files.
must be released. Can't put and take again. ...
Someone said, "Not only poisonous weeds, but also poisonous snakes came
out."
the
Earlier, around early May (9th?) the Standing Committee
of the Tsinghua University Party Committee delivered another speech by Peng
Zhen, with a slightly different tone:
"The Politburo held a meeting and thought that
the document-based rectification method was originally planned, but now it
seems that it is not enough. Recently, outside the party raised (opinions), so
many, which helped a lot. At present, Shanghai and Beijing have really let go,
90% good.
There were indeed a few people who were
anti-communist in their speeches. No matter what the rightists say, they must
be published. To educate the middle elements, we must use the rightists to
educate them. Now Ma Yinchu has also spoken, saying that without the party, it
would not work. "
The following explains in detail how the newspaper
reported the speeches made by Ming Fang. In particular, he urged "students
not to take the initiative to mobilize (singing), and not to let students
rectify teachers, otherwise they will be passive." This one must be
implemented. But it is not the same for opinions from outside the party (to
us), we must weather the storm.”
"The rectification movement, on the one hand,
rectifies ourselves and improves our style of work; on the other hand, it makes
the rightists of the masses gradually move closer to us and reform."
"Now the struggle is more complicated. One is that we want to rectify the
style; Doctrine, I think this is a bit confrontational."
With the widespread launch and deepening of
Mingfang, some sharp opinions began to appear at the time, and the authorities
began to be alert to "rightist speeches", but they did not intend to
launch a major anti-rightist struggle, but only wanted to spread it among the
masses. Isolate them, educate and transform them, and hope that they will
"closer to us".
After seeing the speech data of Peng Zhen and Liu
Ren that year, Nan Shanyun began to think independently:
From the above-mentioned speeches of Mao Zedong,
Peng Zhen, and Liu Ren, it can be seen that they really wanted to rectify the
style of work at the beginning, and the spearhead was directed at the party
cadres. At least it can be inferred that Peng Zhen, a member of the Political
Bureau of the Party Central Committee and secretary of the Secretariat, and Liu
Ren, an executive deputy secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee,
were not aware of Mao Zedong's other activities until late April and early May.
There is a "Yangmou".
Nanshan Yun's heart was in a state of turmoil, his
heartbeat accelerated suddenly, and his blood seemed to be frozen. The speeches
of Mao Zedong, Peng Zhen, and Liu Ren were like a flash of lightning that
instantly illuminated his vision of thinking. A sudden thought gripped his
heart like an iron hook. The thought flashed through his mind like lightning on
a stormy night.
The speeches of those high-level leaders were
spinning in his mind like a revolving lantern. But when he was thinking about
these questions, his thinking was like a compass, always thinking in that
direction. He didn't speak, but thought hard like he was silently calculating a
math problem: a great, glorious, and correct party cannot be questioned. His
pensive air was like a statue. His thoughts, however, were like a small boat
without a canopy, letting the current rush, drifting here and there for a
while. He is too young, and the education he has received has limited the scope
of independent thinking.
