蚱蜢属"高蛋白"生物，故此常常成为蜥蜴的"食谱"之一。所以为了逃生，蚱蜢常吃食有臭味的树叶，如桉树的树叶，然后再呕吐到自己身上。每当蜥蜴一类的"吃肉动物"准备将粘有呕吐物的蚱蜢吞下去时，因为呕吐物的味道实在难闻，就会立即吐出来，因此不会伤害蚱蜢的"筋骨"。

Grasshoppers belong to "high protein" creatures, so often become one of the "recipe" of lizards. So, in order to escape, the grasshopper often eating smelly leaves, such as eucalyptus leaves, then vomiting upon them.
