Three-legged golden toad

Three-legged golden toad

Agudengba continued to tell the story about the toad to the coachman Azhuo. Dogs are natural foodies. They sniff fruits, meat, and even stones. Dogs like to lick toads because they are looking for stimulation because toads have a natural venom that contains hallucinogenic and addictive substances. After dogs lick toads, they are naturally foodies. Easily addicted, this type of dog is called a clam licker.

Agudengba said to the coachman Azhuo: In fact, it is not only dogs that hide on toads, but also those Taoist priests who love toads and transform them into gods. They renamed toads as toads and shaped toads into mythical beasts. The most typical one is the three-legged one. The myth and legend of the golden toad.

Agudenba said:

You may be confused: the toads in our lives all have four legs. Why do the toads sculpted and painted by the Chinese only have three legs? This starts with the legend of the three-legged toad.

Legend has it that the Dragon King of the South China Sea had a daughter named Qiao Gu. She took advantage of the Dragon King's absence and transformed into a golden toad and jumped out of the White Dragon Pond in the Peach Blossom Stream. Just when the little golden toad was enjoying herself, a ferocious python suddenly pounced on her. The big python bit off one of the little golden toad's legs.

At this time, Liu Hai, who was chopping firewood at the foot of Peach Blossom Peak, came to rescue the little golden toad. He swung his wood cutting knife and drove away the big python.

With sincere gratitude, Jin Chan presented Liu Hai with a dragon ball, and then reluctantly returned to the Dragon Palace.

Xiaolongnu Qiaogu fell deeply in love with bangs. One day she missed Liu Hai so much that she secretly left the Dragon Palace again, transformed into a three-legged golden toad and climbed onto the lotus leaf, hoping to see her lover Liu Hai again.

It just so happened that Liu Hai also came to the White Dragon Pond that day because he had to cut down wood to build a house. Liu Hai was tired from cutting down trees and walked to the pond to drink water. Suddenly he found a bunch of money beside him. Why! Who left the money here? He looked around and shouted several times, but no one answered.

Liu Hai thought to himself, this money is not mine, and I cannot take ill-gotten gains. So I picked up the pine tree and prepared to go home. Unexpectedly, the string of money jingled. It was really strange. How did Liu Hai know that the money was secretly placed beside him by the three-legged golden toad, and the silk thread with the money was in her hand.

When Liu Hai was about to leave, the three-legged golden toad pulled the thread under the water, making the string of money ring. Liu Hai felt strange and looked attentively at why the string of money rang. Not paying attention to the big python that swallowed the golden toad last time, it sneaked out of the woods and pounced on Liu Hai from behind.

The three-legged golden toad could see clearly under the water, and hurriedly jumped out of the water, jumped from Liu Hai's eyes to his back, and guided Liu Hai to turn around and find the vicious python that had jumped in front of him. With quick hands and quick eyes, Liu Hai pulled out the woodcutter and slashed the evil python into two pieces.

Liu Hai was very grateful when he saw that the three-legged golden toad had saved his life in a critical situation. Seeing that the silk thread holding the money also followed the golden toad ashore, he picked up the golden toad lovingly, thanked her and said: "Little golden toad, little golden toad, it would be great if you were a girl, we can become a couple." couple".

After that, he gently tied the silk thread holding the money around Jin Toad's neck and led her to play by the stream. Liu Hai led Jin Toad in front, and Jin Toad jumped briskly behind him. Suddenly Liu Hai felt that the silk thread in his hand became heavier. When he looked back, he was surprised to see that the golden girl had turned into a beautiful girl, following behind him and smiling at him.

Liu Hai hurriedly asked the girl, "Who are you? Why is the little golden toad I am holding missing?"

"I am that little golden grandmother. Didn't you say that you would grow old together with me and never be separated?" The girl shyly replied to Liu Hai, "From now on, I will cook for you when it's sunny, and mend your clothes when it rains. Okay?"

After listening to this, Liu Hai remembered the dragon ball given to him by Little Golden Toad, and understood the origin of this girl. He was really overjoyed and said quickly, "Okay, okay"! So the two men packed up the hatchets, led the oxen and carried the pine trees, and went home happily.

At this time, the Dragon King of the South China Sea suddenly appeared in the clouds and snatched away his daughter Qiaogu.

The Dragon King of the South China Sea roared at Liu Hai: I thank you for saving my daughter, but you must be famous and have a successful career. You have accomplished nothing and don’t even think about marrying my daughter!

Liu Hai longed for Qiaogu, so he began to study hard, and achieved fame. Then his official career went smoothly, he was promoted step by step, and later he became the prime minister. It can be said that he was famous all over the world and full of ambition. But he couldn't be happy because he always missed Xiaolongnu Qiaogu.

One day, a Taoist who called himself "Zhengyangzi" came to visit Liu Hai's house. This "Zhengyangzi" Taoist is Zhongliquan.

Although Liu Hai had become prime minister at this time, he was still approachable, and he had always been interested in Taoism, so when he heard that an old Taoist priest wanted to see him, he quickly came out to meet him.

After meeting, this old Taoist priest had a large forehead and wide eyes, his hands were hanging on the ground, his bones were strange and majestic, and his every move revealed the immortal style and Taoism that only a master in the world can have.

Liu Hai was in awe and saluted Zhongliquan very respectfully. Thinking that Zhongliquan was coming to ask for help, he took some silver coins and prepared to give them to the old Taoist priest.

Zhong Liquan smiled and shook his head. Instead of asking for these coins, he wanted to borrow one copper coin and ten eggs from Liu Hai.

Although Liu Hai felt strange, he still ordered his servants to do as he was told.

Zhong Liquan placed the copper coins on the table and placed ten eggs one by one on the money eyes.

Soon, the egg was teetering and in danger of collapsing at any time.

Liu Hai instinctively said: "This is too dangerous, don't let it go anymore."

Zhong Liquan stopped, smiled slightly and said: "Although these eggs are high up, they are already crumbling. The higher they are built, the greater the danger. You hold great power and are in a high position. You have already reached a dangerous situation. Are you still stubborn?"

Zhong Liquan and Liu Hai talked about the "Tao" of "one life is two, two is three, and three is all things".

Liu Hai already had wisdom. When he heard this, he felt like he was enlightened. He immediately said to Zhong Liquan: "Thank you Master for enlightening me. I hope Master will not dislike it and allow his disciples to follow him and learn Taoism."

Zhongliquan smiled and said nothing, turned around and left. Liu Hai also immediately took off his python robe and jade belt and followed the old Taoist priest.

After hearing the news, the Liu family members hurriedly came out to stop them, but the two of them disappeared in an instant. Only then did everyone realize that Liu Hai had been enlightened by an immortal, so he had no choice but to give up.

Liu Hai finally had a profound enlightenment and decided to abandon his official position and learn Taoism. Liu Hai followed Zhong Liquan and traveled thousands of miles a day, all the way to Mount Huashan. Zhongli Quan gave Liu Hai Dan Jue and took him to Zhongnan Mountain to practice Taoism.

It turned out that Zhongli Quan was Han Zhongli, one of the Eight Immortals. He gave Liu Hai the name "Liu Haichan", also known as "Liu Hai". After Liu Hai became a monk, he devoted himself to research and practiced hard, and finally became a great master.

After the Liu Haichan elixir was completed, he logged into the Immortal Class and turned into a crane and left. The Southern Sect of Taoism regards him as its ancestor. Taoist Zhengyang is the Patriarch Zhongli. Lu Zu refers to Lu Dongbin. Lu Dongbin is one of the legendary Eight Immortals, named "Chun Yangzi". Lu Dongbin wandered around the world because he failed in the imperial examination. Lu Dongbin should be Liu Haichan's senior brother.

Agudengba sang a song called "Bangs Become an Immortal":

There is a little dragon girl in the South China Sea,

Transformed into a golden toad,

Hide yourself in Peach Blossom Creek,

Jumping out of Bailongtan with joy.

When the golden toad is in full swing,

Suddenly a big python pounced forward,

Bite off one of the golden toad's legs,

The dragon girl became a three-legged toad.

A man chopping firewood at the foot of Peach Blossom Peak,

Liu Hai took action to save Jinchan,

Wielding a hatchet to drive away the python,

Escort Jin Chan back to the Dragon Palace.

Liu Hai misses Little Dragon Girl,

Study hard to gain fame,

Step by step, he rose to become prime minister.

He is approachable and does not love power.

Seeking enlightenment and becoming a disciple of Zhong Liquan,

Take off your python robe and learn the ways of immortality,

Traveling thousands of miles a day up Mount Huashan,

Finally it becomes the great road, Zhongnan Mountain.
