Rama gives way
Agudemba sadly told the donkey the mythical
story about Prince Rama who was forced to abdicate.
The King of Ten Chariots had three princesses
and gave birth to four princes. The four princes are all tall, handsome,
proficient in the art of war, and highly skilled in martial arts. The eldest
son Rama is more brave and moral than his brothers. He is especially respected
by his subjects and loved by his father. He has been officially established as
a prince.
The King of Ten Chariots was getting older and
his energy was not as good as before, so he asked Rama to assist in government
affairs. Rama's virtue and talent soon won unanimous praise from the ministers.
King Shicha was happy to have a worthy heir and planned to officially pass the
throne to Prince Rama and choose an auspicious day to ascend the throne.
Just as the whole country was rejoicing that
the new king was about to ascend the throne, a cold wind blew in the harem of
Jijiayi, the third concubine of the Ten Che King.
Jigayi heard that the King of Ten Chariots
wanted his eldest wife Chausaraye's son Rama to ascend the throne. Instigated
by the slave girl Mandala, she became furious.
Jigayi threatened the King of Ten Chariots
with death: Rama would not be allowed to inherit the throne, and the throne
should be inherited by her son Bharata. And demanded that Prince Rama be
banished to the forest for fourteen years.
After hearing this, the King of Ten Chess was
so angry that he fainted.
Prince Rama was summoned by someone sent by
Jigayi. Jigayi said to the prince in front of the King of Ten Chariots:
"Your father has decided to give up the throne to Bharata and let you live
in the forest for fourteen years."
Rama saw his father, King Shicha, with tears
in his eyes and a look of sorrow and pain on his face, and knew that this was
not his father's original intention, but Queen Jigayi's idea. But he was a
filial child and did not want to embarrass his father, so he said humbly:
"It is my bounden duty to obey my father's will. Let Bharata inherit the throne.
I will go to the forest immediately."
After saying this, Rama went out. The king of
ten chariots shed tears like rain, his heart felt like a knife, and he fainted
again.
After the King of Ten Chariots woke up, he
told Rama Jijia's request with difficulty and pain, and said to his son Rama:
"Please imprison me now and ascend the throne yourself. Don't let this
evil woman Jijia." Yi’s conspiracy comes true.”
Rama refused. He replied: "I will not do
anything against the Dharma. I will definitely follow my father's orders. I
will leave the kingdom and go to the big forest and let Bharata succeed
me."
Then Jigayi hurriedly urged Rama and his wife
Sita to leave the royal city. Rama just said to Jigayi: "If Bharat can
protect this country well, there is no problem in letting him be the king.
Please remember the queen. , I have no ill intentions towards you.”
At this time, Rama's brother Lakshmana was
shaking with anger. After Lakshmana and Rama left the palace of the Ten Chariot
Kings, they went to see Rama's mother, Queen Chausaraye. He was also
grief-stricken, crying and hugging Rama. Mother and son could only get along
for seventeen years, but they were forced to be separated for another fourteen
years.
Lakshmana couldn't bear it any longer. He said
to Rama: "I will protect you. Now go and seize the throne. I will kill
everyone who hinders you one by one!"
Rama shook his head and said: "Don't be
like this. You can't do anything that is against the law. I must leave Ayodha
and let Jikyay's wish come true. I can't let my father violate his oath."
The younger brother Lakshmana and Rama have
the deepest affection. They used to be inseparable, but now they insist on
accompanying him to the forest to lead a wandering life. The sad Lakshmana had
to plead with his brother to let him be exiled with him, and Rama agreed.
Later, the two brothers went to see Sita and
told her the unfortunate incident. Rama also told Sita that even if he was
exiled, he could not complain against Bharata, and he had to serve his father
and Jigayi well. Sita was extremely sad.
Sita said to Rama: "I will bear the bad
luck you have suffered with you. This is the responsibility of a wife. Take me
with you."
Rama was banished, and the whole country was
dissatisfied and aggrieved for Rama. Rama was carefree and joyless. He took off
his gorgeous royal clothes and put on the common clothes of common people. His
wife Sita was willing to share her husband's adversity and was determined to go
with him.
Rama didn't want Sita to suffer in the forest,
but he couldn't help her. Rama, Sita and Lakshmana first distributed their
property to the Brahmins and their subordinates, and then said goodbye to their
parents. Rama took off his golden crown, took off his fine clothes, put on the
ascetic's bark clothes, and combed his hair. Braids.
But the King of Ten Chariots still felt
ashamed of Rama, so he asked his minister Sumantra to bring gold and jewelry, a
large number of cattle, sheep and livestock, and asked the army to accompany
Rama and his party to live in the forest, hoping to make up for Rama.
Jigayi opposed this proposal.
However, Sita defended Rama, and then the
three of them boarded the chariot driven by the minister Sumantra, left the
capital, and headed for the secluded mountains and forests. The people of
Ayodha were heartbroken and followed Rama behind the chariot. Let's go and
spend the night by the Tama River.
At dawn, Rama asked his charioteer to start
the carriage and leave while the people were still sleeping. When the citizens
woke up, they could not see Rama, Sita and Lakshmana, so they had to return to
the city in pain.
Arriving at the bank of the Ganges River, Rama
and his party were received by Kuha, the chief of the Shanida people.
The next day, Rama sent back his charioteer
and asked his minister Sumandra to return home. He, Lakshmana and Sita crossed
the Ganges and walked towards the forest.
In the forest, they met the sage Baladupaka.
Rama told the sage that he was worried that the residents near the monastery
forest would come to visit him specially. He wanted to find a place to settle
in an inaccessible place. The sage suggested that they go to Zhitara. After
arriving at Kucha Mountain, the three of them stayed for one night at
Baladupaga. After dawn, they crossed the Yamauna River and headed for
Chittaguru.
Seeing that his beloved son was exiled to the
desolate forest to suffer, the king of ten chariots was sad and wept all day
long. He died of sorrow on the fifth day. The curse of the blind couple came
true.
The second prince, Bharata, returned to the
palace after traveling abroad. Seeing the desolate scene in the court, he felt
very sad. He complained that his mother should not have made such terrible and
harsh demands. The throne belongs to the eldest brother and he should not inherit
it. After he held his father's funeral, he set off to find Rama and ask him to
return to the country and take charge of the government.
But Rama was unwilling to go against his
father's decision during his lifetime and insisted on rejecting Bharata's request.
Bharat was very moved by his brother's personality, but he did not want to
inherit the throne, so he placed a pair of Rama's golden slippers on the throne
and covered it with a yellow umbrella, indicating that the king was still Rama
and he was only temporarily managing the country for him. , and after the
expiration of his fourteen years of exile, he returned the power to Rama.
A long time ago, the Aryans who worshiped the
gods worshiped Di Zetian and considered him to be the protector of the Aryans.
Agudengba said to the donkey Mahu: Emperor
Zetian knew about this incident during his inspection in the mortal world, but
he did not intervene. He wanted to continue to observe Rama's performance.
Agudumba sang a hymn about the prince of Saro,
Rama:
In the distant Aryan
The Ganges has a small tributary
The country of Salo was built along the coast.
The king's good nature gradually declined
Prince Ramasuke's government
He will take over the throne if he ascends the throne today
Angry concubine Jijiayi
Resentment and chaos in the harem
She wants to ascend the throne with her own son
Persuading the king to fulfill his wish
Bharata
Rama's fourteenth year in exile
Rama's brother Bharata
My dear brother is unwilling to seize the throne
Rama fulfilled his filial piety and obeyed his father's orders
Advise your brother not to disobey
Brothers don't kill each other
Benefiting the country and the people should lead to stability
If people's selfish desires are too strong
Living must be very tiring
The obsession in my heart is to be empty
Get rid of desires and have no worries
Be open-minded and broad-minded
Rama abdicates the throne through the ages
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
