Hanuman's
birthday
Agudemba said to the donkey Mahu: Dussehra, which celebrates
Rama's victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana, is the grandest festival
in Hinduism, also called the Triumph Festival. In India's most famous epic
"Ramayana", Rama is both a prince in trouble and a hero who overcomes
hardships. But there is also a famous birthday of Hanuman in India.
Hanuman, the monkey god, was born in the holy month, between
December 15 and January 14. The priest will determine the birth date of Hanuman
through the astrological calendar, which falls on a different date every year.
At that time, the temple will carry out a series of rituals, including rituals,
fire sacrifices, sacrifices, prayers, singing and so on.
In addition, each believer will also receive a "Hanuman
fasting bracelet" with 13 knots. The 13 knots symbolize the 13 syllables
of Hanuman's favorite mantra - "Om Namo Bagavathei Vayu Nandhanaya",
which means blessing. Men wear it on their right wrist, women wear it on their
left wrist.
The Buddha Bathing Ceremony is one of the rituals for the
birthday of God Hanuman, which symbolizes blessing.
There are many believers who believe that the Buddha's wishes
come true during the Buddha Bathing Ceremony. All the believers' wishes for
healing, children, peace, career, education, fertility, etc. can be realized
one by one. Believers believe: "As long as you believe by faith, your
wishes will come true! This is why the number of believers in the temple has
been increasing."
Agudenba said:
Among the many believers there are also Chinese compatriots.
Many of them became Hanuman's followers through dreams, Hanuman's apparitions,
fulfillment of prayers, or just passing by the Monkey Temple. A believer said:
"A businessman dreamed of Hanuman. After asking many people, he learned
that there was a monkey temple here. When he was looking for a way, he also saw
Hanuman appearing nearby, and finally found this place. , and became a
believer. In addition, many people have seen Hanuman patrolling near the temple
dressed as a warrior. We believe that Hanuman has been guarding us."
Devotees offer fruits,
flowers and garlands of oar leaves to Hanuman.
Applying cinnabar is like wearing clothes. It is said that
after the celebration ceremony for the victory over the demon king Ravana, Rama
distributed gifts to all the soldiers who assisted him in the war. When it was
Hanuman's turn, Rama said: "I can't give you anything, because nothing can
match what you have done for me." At this time, Princess Sita took off her
belt and put it around her neck. gem necklace and gave it to Hanuman.
As soon as Hanuman took the necklace, he immediately took it
apart and looked at each gemstone carefully. The soldiers present were all
shocked and confused about his actions. Hanuman replied that he would look
carefully at the gems to see if Rama and Sita were among them. If not, the
necklace would have no meaning to him.
After saying this, several people laughed at Hanuman, saying
that his admiration and love for Rama and Sita might not be as deep as he
insinuated. In response, Hanuman cut open his chest, and everyone was shocked
to see that Rama and Sita were indeed in his heart, demonstrating his full
devotion and devotion. Loyalty is one of the symbols of Hanuman and the core
character of Hanuman believers.
Agudemba continued:
Every Thursday and Saturday is "Hanuman Day", and
many believers go to the temple to worship. The general worship rituals mostly
involve praying or donating food, flowers, oar leaf garlands, etc. Looking at
the multi-layered garland of oar leaves hanging on the statue of Hanuman, why
the oar leaves? It turns out that the oar leaf wreath is grateful for joy.
After Hanuman won the war with the demon king Ravana, Princess
Sita saw Hanuman in the oar-leaf garden. When he knelt down to seek blessings
from Sita, she plucked a few oar leaves and sprinkled them on Hanuman to bless
him. To this day, this is one of the sacrifices used by believers to seek
blessings from Hanuman.
Another story also mentions that when Hanuman completed the
task of conveying a message to Rama, Sita gave him a garland of oar leaves to
express gratitude and joy, because there were no flowers nearby.
In addition, an old Indian man told a story. Legend has it that
one Tuesday morning, Hanuman felt hungry and came to Sita asking for something
to eat. He saw that the parting of Sita's hair was painted red and asked why.
Sita told him that if a woman wants her husband to live long and healthy, she
should wear red all her life.
Hanuman thought: "Then if I paint my whole body with
cinnabar, won't I be able to make my master Rama immortal?" So he painted
his whole body red and went to see Rama. From then on, people dissolved
cinnabar in oil as tribute to Hanuman. The ritual of applying cinnabar to the
statue of Hanuman is called "dressing Hanuman", so Hanuman is always
covered in red.
Agudengba said again:
People worship Hanuman, on the one hand, to pray for the
powerful Hanuman to help them overcome difficulties; on the other hand, because
Rama once promised that as long as they pay tribute to Hanuman with cinnabar
and oil, Rama will bless the believers' wishes to come true.
The priest will put a
cinnabar mole on the forehead of the person who comes to pray as a blessing. Be
it large or small statues of Hanuman, devotees offer flowers to show their
respect. Believers go to the Monkey Temple all year round to worship, light
lamps and pay tribute, and pray for blessings and blessings.

Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
