Rama vs Ravana
The early butterfly flew over the flowers
and landed on the donkey's head. It turned out that the butterfly also wanted
to listen to Agu Demba's story with the donkey.
Agudumba is telling the latest legend about
the brothers Rama and Lakshman who led their troops to the Lanka Island to
defeat the ten-headed demon Ravana.
After the divine monkey Hanuman went to
Lanka Island to find Sita, he left Lanka Island and returned to Rama.
Rama saw Sita's hair brought to him by the
monkey god Hanuman. This was Sita's testimony to her husband Rama.
Brothers Rama and Lakshmana, as well as the
monkey soldiers and generals of the Monkey King Miaoxiang, came to Mount
Mahandra together. But they were helpless in the face of the vast sea.
Here, the ten-headed demon king Ravana is
also mobilizing his remaining generals and studying ways to deal with the
enemy.
But Ravana's younger brother Vibhisana
blamed his brother for his unjust behavior, which would lead to destruction,
and advocated that Sita be returned to Rama.
Ravana was furious when he heard this and
beat his brother Vibhisana.
So Vibhisana, along with four of his
subordinates, defected to Rama. They swore loyalty to Rama and then reported
the situation on the side of the demon Ravana one by one.
Vibhisana suggested that Rama pray to the
sea god to get a way to cross the sea.
Rama did as he was told, and the sea god
told Rama: "The sea is originally unfathomable, but because of your
righteous actions, I can help you. You have Nala in your army, the son of the
god of architecture, Bishugamo, who can cross the sea. Build a bridge and I
will hold it up with the sea.”
Naluo commanded the monkey soldiers to
throw big stones and wood into the sea. Five days later, a ferry bridge leading
to Lanka City was built.
Rama bravely took the lead and led the
monkey army across the sea to the city of Lanka.
The battle between Rama and Ravana begins.
Indrajit, the son of the demon king Ravana,
used illusion magic to hide his figure, chanted mantras, and shot snake arrows.
Snake arrows flew towards Rama and Lakshmana one after another, binding them.
The two brothers were seriously injured and unable to move, so they fell to the
ground. Indrajit thought they were dead. Then he withdrew his troops and
returned to the city to celebrate the victory.
Rama and Lakshmana lay on the ground for a
long time. Everyone was helpless. At this time Garuda, the king of Garuda,
descended from the sky. He was the natural enemy of snakes. Wherever his hand
touched, the wounds of the two brothers Rama healed immediately.
Rama regained his strength, and the monkey
army resumed its attack on Lanka City.
The Rakshasa side sent generals Thunder
Teeth and Agambo to fight, but these two generals died one by one. In the end,
the commander of the Rakshasa, Balakhasita, also died in the hands of the
monkey army.
Ravana was furious at the death of
Balahasitra. He personally took action, first fought with Hanuman of the monkey
army, and then wounded Lakshmana.
Rama sat on the back of the monkey Hanuman
and threw a wheel to Ravana that could find its target. The wheel knocked off
Ravana's helmet, and Ravana retreated to the city of Lanka.
Ravana said to his men: "Neither the
gods nor the asuras can harm me, but today I was defeated by a mortal. We
cannot relax at all. Now, we must wake up Kungpojana."
Gongbojana is the younger brother of
Ravana, and he is a huge monster. Brahma wanted to give him a favor because of
his hard practice, but the gods were afraid that he would bring disaster to the
world, so they asked the goddess Benzai to get into his throat and make a
request on his behalf: "He only wakes up once every six years, and only
wakes up after one day." Sleep for another six years.”
Now that the six years were approaching,
the Rakshasas tried their best to wake him up by driving a herd of elephants
over him. After a hearty meal, Kyoubo Kana officially went into battle.
The monkeys were so frightened that they
fled in all directions when they saw Kyoubojana's huge figure. The troll
stabbed the monkey god Hanuman with a javelin, knocked out the monkey king
Miaoxiang with stones, and devoured hundreds of monkeys.
In the end, Rama shot off the hands,
stomach and legs of Gongpojana with arrows, filled the troll's mouth with
arrows, and then cut off the troll's head with a javelin.
The gods who were watching the battle in
the sky saw this unprecedented battle, and they all rejoiced at the death of
the troll Kyoupo Kana.
When Agudengba told the donkey the mythical
story of the arrival of the monkey, he happily sang a "Song of Conquering
Demons":
Demons
do evil and everyone hates them
There
is no well-being for the people and no peace for the country
Rama
leads the battle against demons
Protect
the country and the people regardless of one's own safety
The
monkey god leads the monkey army
Special

Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
