Shiva
Agudemba
began his journey to India on a donkey. He told the donkey the story of how
Taksha prevented his daughter Sati from marrying the great god Shiva.
Tuosha's
daughter Sati has grown into a beautiful girl, and she has hidden her
sweetheart in her heart, that is the great god Shiva.
Shiva, the
god of destruction, is one of the three Hindu gods.
Speaking
of the Chinese translation of the name "Shiva", Chinese people always
mistakenly think that she is an old woman. In fact, Shiva is a handsome guy.
The male Linga is the most basic symbol of Shiva.
Shiva's
status is that of the destroyer, with dual personalities of reproduction and
destruction, creation and destruction. Shiva presents various strange and
grotesque appearances, including the lingam phase, the terrifying phase, the
gentle phase, the superman phase, the three-faced phase, the dancing king
phase, the main phase of Riga, the main phase of a half-female, etc.
Shiva's
most powerful weapon is the third eye on his forehead. This eye can emit divine
fire that destroys everything in the universe. According to ancient Indian
Sanskrit epics, Shiva once used the divine fire emitted by the third eye to
destroy three giant castles in space. At the end of each cosmic period, Shiva
will open his third eye, and all gods, humans and animals in the universe will
be destroyed by his divine fire. In addition to the eyes that can emit divine
fire, Shiva also has other types of weapons, namely a trident called
"Binaka" and a bow called "Ajagawa". "Binaka" is
a symbol of lightning, which means Shiva is the god of storms.
But in the
eyes of Tuosha, Shiva is a man who wears tiger skin all year round, a barbarian,
and a person who associates with cannibal monks all day long. Shiva should not
be the husband of his daughter. He could never let his beautiful daughter Sati
marry Shiva the Destroyer in this world.
Sati
became anxious. Knowing her father Dakshasa's obstruction, she said to her
mother: "Mom! As a person who is dedicated to our Lord, I want to meditate
on the charm of Shiva. Please allow me to do this." Her mother After
allowing her to meditate, it was confirmed that Lord Shiva was the perfect
husband for Sati.
With her
mother's permission, Sati prayed to Shiva every day and began to meditate. Sati
spent time day and night in worship to Lord Shiva.
People
from different places would come and peek to see Sati praying to Lord Shiva.
Sadie didn't know what was going on outside. She was always devoted to prayer
and meditation.
Seeing all
this, the gods went to Jivasa Peak to visit the great god Shiva. Afterwards,
everyone said: "Praise be to the Lord! We salute you!"
After
hearing everything the gods said, Shiva replied: "Vishnu and Brahma, and
the rest of the gods, what is the reason for your visit? Tell me, the reason
for your visit."
When the
great god Shiva asked the reason, Brahma replied: "O great god! We have all
come to remind you of an important thing. When I completed my creation, the
number of asuras in the world was expanding. Their sins are increasing. Do not
destroy them, think what will happen. You are the only one who can continue to
perform your duties. No one can help you. You have a power of destruction.
Although we are all one, we have Different duties. After your advice, I am
responsible for creation and Vishnu is responsible for protection. We both have
wives. But you should not live alone like this. It is not legitimate. So, to
make the gods and creatures happy, To complete the world I have created, you
should get married. So please accept a beautiful woman as your wife."
After
listening to what Brahma said, Shiva smiled and replied: "Brahma, and Vishnu!
You two are very important to me, so what you say is important. I will do what
you say. But, like me It is not suitable for such a man to get married. I have
been meditating, I am an ascetic, so what is the point of getting a wife? I
have no interest in marriage, but for the sake of the world, I will get
married, I am ready to get married .but to be clear, I will only marry a woman
who can incarnate into different people. Whenever I meditate, she should
meditate too. She should also not be a hindrance to my ideals. So, give me a
supportive A bride who is ideal and follows my word.”
Vishnu and
Brahma became happy when they heard Shiva talking about this incident.
Brahma
said, "We have found a suitable bride for you. She is an incarnation of
Goddess Shakti. Her name is Sati. She is the best consort for you. She is
meditating to be your wife. So big O God! You should bless her in marriage. Her
wish should be approved by you. This is what we gods want. So, the world will
be complete and happy."
Vishnu
also expressed the same view.
Shiva
understood the importance of this matter. He blessed the gods and decided to
marry Sati.
At this
time, Sati kept praying to the great god, focusing only on Shiva and
meditation.
After a
long time, Shiva suddenly appeared in front of Sati. Shiva was very satisfied
and happy with Sati. Sati also looked at Shiva with respect, even though she
was excited to see him. She understood that all the hard work she had put into
meditation had paid off.
Shiva
said, "Hey, O beautiful Sati! You have succeeded in making me fall in love
with you. I am very satisfied with your austerities. Please tell me without
hesitation what is your wish and I will be happy to do it for you Serve.”
After a
long silence, Sati replied: "O God! I follow meditation and prayers and
want to be your wife. Please accept me as your wife."
Shiva
replied: "It is also my wish to be your husband. I will fulfill our wish
immediately."
After
saying this, Shiva gradually disappeared.
In
meditation, Sati danced the famous Shiva dance and sang the "Ode to
Shiva":
Shiva! Shiva!
Our respected God of Destruction!
The third eye on your forehead,
Able to send out the divine fire of
justice,
You are the destroyer of the old world,
What you destroy is sin and evil.
Shiva! Shiva!
The God of Destruction we worship!
At the end of every cosmic period,
You will open your third eye,
You also destroyed the giant fortress,
Destroy sin and evil in the universe.
Shiva! Shiva!
Our great god of destruction!
You hold the Binaka trident in your hand,
You draw Ajagawa’s bow,
You are the fierce symbol of lightning,
You are the storm god of creation.
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
