Ganges goddess
The
old donkey accompanied Agudengba to visit a temple. The old donkey pointed to
the temple building and said to Agudengba:
Almost
all religion, culture and art in India originate from the Vedas, and in the
Vedic tradition, sex is never-ending. People regard their belief in or
rejection of sex as a measure that determines the survival of the soul. They
believe in the life cycle theory of "reincarnation" and believe that
the soul can continue to exist as a human or animal after death. Sex is an
important part of the cycle of human life. Hinduism, in particular, is a
religion that inherited the fertility worship culture of the indigenous Indian
inhabitants, the Dravidians, and the nature worship tradition of the Aryans.
They both believe that reproduction is Sexual desire is the most critical
connection point in life.
The
old donkey told Agudemba a legendary story about the goddess Ganges:
There
is a story about the "Origin of the Ganges" in the Indian epic
"Ramayana". It is said that the Hindu god Shiva and Uma had sex for
100 years without interruption. He was so frightened that he begged Shiva to
pour his semen into the Ganges River, giving birth to the ancient and splendid
Indian civilization. This is why the water of the Ganges River comes from the
sky. And we know that the Ganges River is called the mother river and the holy
river in India. From this, it is not difficult to find that in the minds of
Indians, sex is noble and sacred.
The
old donkey told Agudengba the legend about the origin of "hardware"
in India:
That
is also a story recorded in the Indian epic "Ramayana", which is
about the birth process of Kumara, the god of war: The god of fire poured semen
from all directions to the goddess Ganges, the daughter of the mountain king,
and the waves in the Ganges River were filled with semen. . The Goddess Ganges
was frightened and excited, and was burned by the raging fire, and then she
threw her brilliant fetus into the waves of the river. What poured out of her
shone like refined gold. It flows down to the earth, and everything turns into
pure silver. From the coarser semen came iron and copper; from the dirtier
semen came tin and lead. Once those things hit the earth, they turned into
various treasures. The goddess made everything in the womb very beautiful and
lovely. So the god of war Kumara was finally born.
Agudemba
smiled: This is the first time I heard so many legends about semen.
At
this time, several temple prostitutes walked by.
The
old donkey looked at their backs and said to Agudengba: According to historical
records, Indian temple prostitutes also come from a legend.
In
the sixteenth century, a southern king discovered that his wife had committed
adultery. He was so angry that he ordered his son to chop off her head. When
the king saw that his son listened to his words, he asked him what reward he
wanted. The son said that he wanted his mother to come back. However, his
mother's head was nowhere to be found.
At
that time, Yelamma, a woman belonging to the untouchables, was willing to offer
her head as a connection. From then on, Yelanma and her sister Honeygama were
able to join the ranks of the Indian gods and became the objects of girls'
devotion to serve as servants of the gods.
Many
years later, the servant of God became a prostitute. Currently, there are
hundreds of thousands of temple prostitutes in the northern state of Karmataka,
India. India's criticized dowry system has prompted many poor people to
sacrifice their daughters as temple prostitutes. Moreover, if parents who have
no sons give their daughter away, it is customary for the daughter to provide
for them on the son's behalf. When it comes to their own interests, many
parents are willing to sacrifice their daughters' happiness.
The
old donkey sighed:
In
ancient Indian culture, sex and religion were closely linked. There is a belief
system, Tantra, which not only does not reject worldly pleasures, but on the
contrary tries its best to explore this pleasure experience.
Those
sex temples in India focus on sexual energy and sexual beliefs, relying on sex
to achieve the purpose of obtaining happiness. The most famous ceremony is the
"five pleasures" attended by several pairs of men and women. The
first four are fish, meat, wine, and grain, and the fifth is sexual intercourse
together. Men and women merge into one body in bliss, experiencing the state of
unity between heaven and man. Because they believe that sexual intercourse is
the greatest help to enlightenment, they chant scriptures or practice yoga
while having sexual intercourse. People who participate in this activity often
exchange partners in order to enhance the effect. It can be said that this is
the earliest form of wife-swapping.
Temple
prostitutes had sexual intercourse not only for pleasure but also to worship
the gods. These women regarded themselves as the wives of the gods they served,
and thus their lasciviousness was not subject to public criticism. Moreover,
there are many prostitutes who are not willing to engage in prostitution
themselves, but are forced to become prostitutes because they were sent to
temples by their parents when they were young.
What the old man said overturned
Agudenba's understanding of India. He fell into chaos and seemed very confused.
But
the old donkey sang "The Dilemma Song" as if nothing had happened:
There are two dilemmas in the
world,
It is difficult to climb to the
sky,
Asking God is even harder.
There are two kinds of
suffering on earth,
Poverty and suffering,
Feeling tired is even more
painful.
There are two dangers in the
world,
Jianghu danger,
Ignorance is more dangerous.
There are two things in this
world,
Being unkind,
The emperor's favor is even
thinner.
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
