Goddess of War Durga
Shiva's wife, Parvati, the
goddess Devi, stepped forward to fight against the evil-doing King Asura and
wanted to go on the expedition on her husband's behalf. The three main gods
Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu were very surprised. But in the end, he agreed to
Parvati's request and expressed his full support and help in her challenge to
King Asura.
It is said that Brahma,
Vishnu and other minor gods breathed out flames and gave birth to Durga. Durga
was born with the intention of destroying the bull demon Moses Sasura.
Therefore, Durga is composed of the wrathful power of several gods. It can also
be said that she has the inner fire character of women.
Betty the crow said to Mr.
Agudemba:
In fact, the war goddess
Durga is an incarnation of the goddess Parvati.
The original meaning of
"Durga" is "the one who is difficult to resist". Ancient
Chinese books also gave her a very appropriate translation name as "the
difficult to approach mother", which was taken from the "difficult to
approach" of the Rakshasa she destroyed. "Mother of Dilemma" was
later absorbed into Buddhism as a protector.
Goddess Durga is the most
worshiped goddess in Hinduism. Often regarded as the energy and power of the
universe, she is also known as the goddess of power. She also represents the
power that transforms the universe, so she is also called Maya.
Durga was born as a great
savior. When she was born, she was accompanied by the dazzling golden light of
a thousand suns, and the entire universe was enveloped in her dazzling
brilliance. Gold, white and red are his main colors.
Goddess Durga is very
beautiful, with golden skin, wearing a gorgeous red sari and decorated with
various jewelry. Her eyes are as beautiful as green lotus flowers, her hair is
black, and she wears a crown on her head.
Accompanied by the golden
light of a thousand suns, a mighty lion is her mount. Her ten hands hold
weapons borrowed from the gods, including Vishnu's disk, Shiva's trident, and
Indra. Thunder Pestle, Agni's Flame Javelin.
Goddess Durga sometimes
rides on a lion, sometimes on a tiger. She is very beautiful and has a
confident smile like a crescent moon. Each of her ten arms holds a powerful
magic weapon given by Vishnu and Shiva. Weapons: decapitation knife,
world-destroying bow and arrow, trident, conch hammer, short battle axe, fire
gathering disk, soul-stealing bell, and bound light wheel. It also includes
weapons borrowed from the gods, such as Vishnu's disk, Shiva's trident, Indra's
thunder pestle, and Agni's flaming javelin.
Crow Betty told Agudumba
again:
Goddess Durga is not only
very powerful herself, she can also release countless female warriors to assist
in the battle, and her forehead can release the terrifying goddess Kali.
Durga can protect and
destroy living things. She once ordered her sons to make sacrifices to defeat
the enemy. The two majestic lions and Himalayan tigers are the incarnations of
her two sons.
Her main achievement was to
destroy the ferocious Rakshasas such as Durgamo, Sunva and Nisun.
The image of goddess Durga
is bright and brave, and she is also a very distinctive main deity around
India. The prosperity of the goddess also means that women are valued.
The birth of Durga freed Parvati from
having to go to the battlefield in person, and also gave Shiva another
ready-made wife.
Crow Betty sang a song
"Durga, the Goddess of War" for Mr. Agudumba:
Everyone hopes for world peace
Peace will not come out of nowhere
for when our God comes
The devil also follows God
God will pray for us peace
The devil has turned the world upside down
Every soul is born for a mission
Fulfilling one's responsibilities is one's destiny
Brave men should fight for their responsibilities
Our goddess of war Durga
Himalayan mountain tiger snow lion
Protect living beings with mighty and bravery
Durga was born in flames
She was born to slay demons
She killed the bull demon Mahisha
She made the Asura demon army surrender
She won peace with force
She is an invincible goddess
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
