The tea will cool when you leave

The tea will cool when you leave

Agudengba and Dawa girl, as well as their young companions hunters Chu Sanxing and Xiang Qima, drank bitter tea, ate tea and snacks, chewed betel nut, and chatted about Myanmar's food culture in a small teahouse on the bank of the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar. The most talked about things are about bitter tea.

Chu Sanxing asked Agudengba: Burmese people regard tea drinking as a sincere friendship. The relationship established while drinking tea may not have the same return, but there will definitely be a warm response. But Burmese people would say that if you interact with Chinese people, never overestimate your relationship with any Chinese person. Although no one in this world can never be separated from anyone, in China, it is the most realistic state to have cold tea after leaving. What exactly is this for?

Agudenba smiled:

"The tea will cool when you leave" is indeed a familiar saying among Chinese people. It comes from the Ming Dynasty "Rhymes of Brothel" edited and annotated by Zhu Yuanliang. The original sentence is: Everyone who comes is a guest, all with a bag of money. If you smile when you meet, you will not be there again. Think about it, the tea gets cold when people leave. It means that both parties are hypocritical and snobbish, and do not need to be sincere.

Putting aside the particularity of the brothel, "the tea is cool when people leave" is actually a statement of objective facts. When a guest comes, serve him a cup of hot tea; when the guest leaves, the unfinished hot tea will naturally cool down. It is actually a normal natural phenomenon for people to leave their tea to cool down.

In fact, friendship is like a pot of boiling water. Once it is removed from the stove, it gradually cools down. This is true for friends, let alone a normal working relationship? Some officials get along with their subordinates day and night when they are in office, and naturally interact frequently. After officials leave their posts, they see each other less and less. There are not so many important matters to ask officials for instructions and discussions, so "tea" becomes a necessity. It would be a bit abnormal if after a leading cadre retires, the house is still crowded with guests and the entertainment is endless, and it may not be a relaxed and happy thing.

Viewed dialectically, whether "tea" is cool or not is completely a natural phenomenon. However, the reason why some people hate the idea of "people taking tea to cool down" is because they equate "people taking tea to cool down" with "burning bridges across rivers" and "ungratefulness". Although some officials have retired and left their jobs, they still show off their seniority, or "pull the flag into a tiger's skin", or use their connections at work to seek personal gain. Once their unreasonable actions and unreasonable demands are exposed, If they refuse, they will become angry and often accuse others of being "unemotional" and "ungrateful", and then lament that "the tea is cold when people leave." From this point of view, it is better to keep the "tea" cold.

Agudemba continued:

Justice is in the hearts of the people, and there will always be a steelyard in the hearts of the people. To win the support and love of the people, officials do not rely on the small favors and accumulated power of "in office". Only integrity, noble sentiments and the spirit of selfless dedication will have eternal vitality in the hearts of the people. For those who care about personal fame and fortune, even though everyone respects them when they are in office, it is strange that the cup of "people's hearts" will not be cool once they leave.

You pour a cup of hot tea for guests, and after the guests leave, the undrinkable cup of hot tea will naturally cool down after being left for a long time. When you are no longer an official and leave a position of power, your relationships there will immediately fade. When some people have no use value to others, others will ignore them. It is not uncommon for people to be indifferent and the world to be cold. We must understand the principle of "when people leave, the tea will cool down". When you have no use value, it is impossible to expect that your home will always be busy. The tea will naturally cool down when people leave, otherwise the tea will taste rancid.

Agudengba sang a song called "The Tea Is Cool":

Naturally, the tea becomes cold when people walk away.

It's not normal to be cool.

As long as the true love remains,

So what if it turns into ice?

As time goes by, I have become more knowledgeable,

It is inevitable for people to drink cold tea when they leave.

Yesterday passed without worries,

It’s good to have a quiet mind and enjoy your own tea.
