Judge Fox's Judgment

 

The owner of the animal farm, Shan Weng, took a fancy to the sheep raised by the neighboring farmer.

The mountain man went to court to accuse the farmer of stealing his chickens by raising sheep.

The court that accepted the case was in a majestic position; the judge was Kali, the color-changing fox.

Cali the Colorful Fox immediately began to inquire about the evidence of the plaintiff, the mountain man, and the defendant, the farmer. Both of them had to carefully state the case, present all the evidence, and explain the truth of the matter. ​

The mountain man said: "On May 10, when I was working at the farm, the two chickens were nowhere to be found. The chicken feathers and bones were scattered on the ground. This sheep was the only one that came to my yard that day."

The farmer defended himself by saying: "My sheep sleep all night, and I can ask people in the neighborhood to testify: Everyone has always believed that sheep will not commit any theft or deception, and sheep have never eaten bird or animal meat in their lives." ."

The sentence of Cali the Colorful Fox is reproduced word for word as follows:

 

"We believe that the farmer's defense for the sheep is untenable; because clever concealment of evidence is a common practice of the most evil. The evidence has proven that on May 10th, the sheep and the chickens were never far apart. And chicken is the most delicious, not to mention such a great opportunity; therefore, based on my conscience, based on the above situation, I am sure that the sheep will never let the chicken go."

 

Sheep was sentenced to death and executed immediately. ​

The mutton was confiscated by the court and the sheepskin was collected by the plaintiff.

 

After the case was heard, Shan Weng invited the judge, Cali, the color-changing fox, to have dinner.

The farmer who lost his sheep sang a sad song "Ask the Sky" in the wilderness:
