Black-necked Crane and Wolf
When Agudengba was chatting with the owner of the
village, Dunjiashu, at Shuiyun Manor, Agudengba's donkey Mahu and Dunjiashu's
adopted black-necked crane Zongzong were walking by the river.
Black-necked Crane Zongzong unexpectedly saw a wolf
lying twitching by the river. It turned out that this wolf encountered
something bad and almost died from its bone. It was speechless and breathless.
Seeing life coming to an end.
The black-necked crane walked over, and the wolf gestured
and begged the black-necked crane for help with painful eyes.
The donkey Mahu persuaded the black-necked crane
Zongzong: "We all know that wolves are greedy and bloodthirsty things.
They chew and eat without even spitting out the bones. We cannot have sympathy
for wolves."
The kind-hearted black-necked crane is too kind. The
black-necked crane said: "Having malicious intentions will actually harm
yourself. I hate the wolf's cruelty, but I also believe that good deeds and
virtue can change the wolf's nature. I can't just die without saving him."
The black-necked crane put its head and neck into the
wolf's mouth, and with great effort, used needle-nose pliers to remove the bone
stuck in the wolf's throat.
After being rescued, the wolf did not thank the
black-necked crane for saving his life. Instead, he said to the black-necked
crane: "Your stupid head and slender neck can be safely pulled out of my
mouth. You should thank me. Get away quickly." Well, if you meet me again
next time, I will never forgive you."
The rescued wolf did not expect that the donkey called
the Tibetan Mastiff Duoqi, and the Tibetan Mastiff suddenly rushed towards the
wolf fiercely. The ungrateful wolf ran away.
Tibetan mastiff Duoqi said to the black-necked crane
Zongzong: "There should be no kindness to wolves."
The donkey sang a song of forgiveness:
If the tent does not emit
smoke,
Rainy days are bound to
happen.
The tiger's claws remain
unchanged after death.
The fox's fur remains
unchanged after he dies.
The gray wolf hangs up his
goatee,
I can't change my vicious
face.
We can forgive our friends,
But he can't forgive the gray
wolf.
The bottom of the pot will
not be whiter than a crow,
The gray wolf is always cruel
and dark-hearted.
Taking the legendary wise Agu Demba as the protagonist, I started to create the Chinese-English version of "Snow Land Fable" using the traditional fable creation method that combines poetry and prose. Writing fables makes me feel like a child again. Studying snowy culture is my prescription to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
