This tower is adjacent to the Donati family towers and competed with them during the Black and White Party rivalry. The Donati Tower is an ancient tower located in the historic center of Florence, near two other Donati towers. Simple coats of arms carved in stone symbolize the family's antiquity. The Castagna Tower is one of the few Florentine towers open to the public and is now a small museum exhibiting the history of Garibaldi's Italian army.
